Great competition! Thank you Dungle

This is probably the only new piece to hit my walls in the past year. Never thought I would own one of these. Was able to pick it up in Brooklyn- brought the family, got a pizza, it was a great day.

Conor Harrington- Small Town Tale with a Global Punch.
The image is not devoid of morality which I feel most contemporary art is . For me it captures raw emotion, in essence it captures feeling. The feeling that unities us all together, the unilateral understanding of hate, power, brutality. I suppose, rather than attempting to define what virtue truly is.........instead, this piece for me accepts what man is not, stripping the beast back to its true nature.
Unfortunately I do not own this piece and was planning on purchasing it during the summer hopefully from someone on this forum, however plans change, 'curse you Peter Blake and my art addiction for stealing my fund for this print'. 'so maybe towards the end of the year i will get it.
(edit) is that common when mentioning an artists name it links to ebay?

My favorite piece in my collection by my favorite artist. After much thought about spending a month and a half's wages, I knew that if I let this pass, it would never again cross my path. My first original and the last piece to go if needs be. I believe this freehand painting really embodies the rawness and energy in Bast's work. Hopefully my children will appreciate art the way that I do.

Paul Insect Show Cards, by Jameszee on Apr 15, 2016 22:33:54 GMT 1, My Mehdi Ghadyanloo - Hat Trick Without Encouragement is the favourite print that I own.
It was an impulse buy when I was taking my then heavily pregnant wife out for lunch in East London. It's a raw, but dark and strong image. Those children playing are blissfully unaware of the power that can crush them at any moment. Luckily my 11 month old girl doesn't have a clue what's going on in that image (yet)
The icing on the cake was by chance bumping into Mehdi painting his wall in East Dulwich a few weeks later. Possibly one of the most nicest and unegotistical artists that I've ever met. I look forward to seeing what is in his new show very much.

Paul Insect Show Cards, by treweman on Apr 16, 2016 4:56:44 GMT 1, A difficult task. My favorite piece, at least at the moment I'm writing this, is probably the 4 layer stencil on canvas that I recently acquired from forum member Tinku. It is very, very large, and the colors are wonderful. It actually glows even in low light, as if it has gold leaf. This may be the best stencil work I've ever seen, and that is saying a lot. And to be honest, as impressive as this is, it s even more special because I had an opportunity to meet the artist and his father while on a recent trip to Mexico City. Titled Retorno ...

One of the few prints I was able to score directly from the gallery and not in the second market. I just love the image and it reminds me of the History channel tv series "Life After People" which I found fascinating.

Paul Insect Show Cards, by longshanks on Apr 18, 2016 15:29:11 GMT 1, oh man, I'd love a show card as I missed the show, but to pick a favourite would be like picking a favourite child. I guess my Sandra Chevrier holds a place in my heart as it's an original, and most of my other bits are prints. But then my first ever print also holds a place. That'd be Banksy - Toxic Mary. But my first Hush - Twin Light really got me going with regards to collecting and lead me to this place.... Nope, cant do it. Bugger good luck everyone else, I've failed

Paul Insect Show Cards, by nds on Apr 18, 2016 21:27:12 GMT 1, I've got two Paul Insect Show Cards if anyone wants one inbox me I don't need two of them. There's a few on eBay. I don't believe you should sell them. Despite the give away which is a very nice offer, I think it is generally nice to read about peoples favourite art pieces. in that case I think you should do what dungle is doing, it adds a bit more interest.

Because of the story and it's simplicity, great lines and shows how much Adams work has progressed compared to others IMO.

Paul Insect Show Cards, by Schrödinger's Chat on Apr 22, 2016 12:43:42 GMT 1, Okay, I don't want to be the one to come out with the X-Factor sob story but my Martin Whatson ER is my absolute favourite piece I own.
I bought this with money I inherited from my Grandparents (part of my Mum's share of the inheritance since she passed away when I was just 16). I bought it because I love the beauty of the image combining the furthest reaches of scientific discovery (space travel) with the natural beauty (and complexity - have you ever seen how a butterfly flies?) of the butterfly.
I'm not a religious person (quite the opposite) but I still have this weird sentimentality that those close to me that have passed on are out there somewhere looking down/watching and making sure myself and my family are well and every time I look at this image I am reminded of them.
