Looks like $4k for the edition of 20.  Can anyone tell me why his prices are so variable?  He had a release with addfuel that was $175 and this one is 4k?  Most of his are higher editions but below $200.  Just curious.

These would be classified as fine art within Sheps output. Hand painted stencils. He has always had a range from the regular screen prints, screen prints on wood and metal, retired stencils and multimedia hand collaged pieces (HPM).

Anyway, I’ve been a lot of schooled because I have had hard periods, and anyway Obey ( I really prefer his first prints : why do he use gold at each prints now ?! ) is sensed to sell in the entire world.

Surely this is an old problem, but I am quite angered so I have to write this:

Really wanted to score the John Lennon print today. I admire Lennon, adore the Beatles and really like Obey. I was there at the schedule time, was in the waiting line to check out, was redirected to the shop where they were still available and the next time I was in the waiting line it went to "sold out".

And now, 3 hours later, there is about 40 on ebay.

I mean: WHAT THE F*#K. Is there no way to get these also in collectors hands? Make it a lottery where at least sometimes I can purchase a print I really want? Is there no way to score without a bot?

I did the same, was really hoping I got one, either colour. The Beatles influence probably added to the lack of opportunity. Just bullshit that they’re Ebayed so quickly.

If you want to try for future drops, I'd recommend joining the Discord server and picking up one or more of the Obey NFTs. They often give NFT holders token-gated access to a limited number of the prints a couple days before the general sale. Much easier to purchase. I believe the Lennon drop was up for a decent amount of time before it sold out.

Besides I think that tying new releases to the ownership of an NFT is just a sly way of making more sales and especially selling NFTs.

This is a new process on the Obey site (this and the Warhol collages) I have gone from near 100% success to missing on both the 2 since the new system. I won't be going the discord route either.

The way you said it made it sound like a moral stand. Apologies. To clarify though, the intention is to reward loyal holders of the NFTs and fans of Shep, not to drive new NFT sales. All sales at this point would be secondary market. But yeah fair enough.

I guess I'm not familiar with the obey ordering process now. Before you could manually check out within 10 seconds without the use of a bot and purchase 90% of the time.
