Well, I bought it secondary market off the bay. I really like that he is going back to the OG Andre face. I think it will appreciate and while it does it will look good on the wall. Over 20% of the entire print run was bought by flippers.

low ball someone on ebay, there are plenty of sellers who don't have the capital to hold long and jumping into markets they know nothing about.  Everyone wants a side gig right now and flipping art has gotten more and more popular.....

I've been happy as I've found a few things I wanted at great prices when patient. I'll wait you out this is one of those pieces, though nostalgic, not for everyone and will sit in a flippers flat file.

Same, more than 25% of the entire print edition went up on ebay. My shipping was loading for 2-3 minutes... had to pay someone $115 USD for the print.

Time to sell your Shepard Fairey's now before this blood bath.

How many versions of the same image does he need to make.

Any good image he has.. he makes 10-15 HPMs on mixed media, another 10-15 HPMs on wood and another 10- 15 on metal.... plus the original 450 18x 24s and now 90 on large formats

30 large format versions x 89 editions each or more (APs and whatnot). $900 + for each.

There will only be a couple of these large format prints released that will do well in secondary market. Maybe 20 years from now things will be different but forget it for a while on most of these. This move doesn't make me want to invest in Shepard Fairey too much.

HAHA, I'm sure people are enjoying those dozen or even hundreds of shepard fairy prints in art binders and storage shelves. Obey prints are now like baseball cards. Collecting them in binders and never looking at them. If anything, anyone who buys more than a couple obeys are not putting them on walls. They are storing them as good or bad investments.

That would be nice if the "investors" were no longer interested in it.

If Shepard had released them piece by piece without telling people that another 30 were coming, those "investors" would be on top of it.

I am glad that he has announced that he will release 30 so that there is something for everyone. Hopefully without interference from investors.

Assuming he releases all LF 89 editions and excludes the APs, the revenue will be $80k per release. So approximately $2.4m in revenue.

Compared to the average single 18*24 edition of 550 @ $45, he would average $25k per release. For 30 releases, that is approximately $750k in revenue.

It is a money move, and a very good one at that.

Jeez louise the flippers are a stubborn bunch. This launch wasn't a touchdown and they still bought to flip. Any possible margins have been eroded by an increase in both price and edition run of approx 20%. Then you gotta add the tax. They'll be sitting on these bricks for a while.

Usually his 18x24 prints he calls screenprint. He is referring to these larger prints as serigraph. Can anyone explain the difference?
