Tendinitis, Upper forearm - any advice, by doyle on Feb 21, 2016 0:56:30 GMT 1, @stephratcatcher has a doctor confirmed this is what you have? Or self-diagnosis/you have had it before? Usually anti-inflammatories prescribed from doc and rest worked for me. Mine was from overtraining in gym.

Tendinitis, Upper forearm - any advice, by agu on Feb 21, 2016 9:29:21 GMT 1, Massage really helps. Don't pay a fortune get a mate to do it for you. Gentle pressure along the whole length of the muscle above and below the joint. get the whole musle working to relieve the stress on 1 point. A spikey ball roller is really effective too. .. and rest

Not sure massage would help tendonitus as it's the tendon that's inflamed, not the muscle? (ICBW)
I had tendonitus in my middle finger once (scroll wheel on mouse, not what you think). It sent pain right up back of my hand and up my forearm a little.
Had to stop using computers for 2 weeks (which was agony itself, this was pre smartphones) and find alternative to scrollwheel.
As said above you need to find out what repetative thing or combination of things you're doing to have caused this and stop doing that immediately for a week or so. Then work out a different way of doing it.
If it's something as part of your job and you work for a company you should be able to get support if you talk to HR (they wont want lawsuit on their hands)
IME doctors know only a surprisingly limited amount on these matters. Get them to refer you to a physio who will give you excercises to combat the problem. It can often be some action from another part of the body and isn't always obvious.

Tendinitis, Upper forearm - any advice, by agu on Feb 21, 2016 10:56:58 GMT 1, Fair point and I would stress that I am not a Physio. That said the tendons run through the whole muscle and I find my forearm gets really stiff and it seems to exert more pressure into a couple of points near my elbow. Which then get **REALLY** sore. I also understand that ligaments have very poor blood supply. Massage works for me, I have 3 theories. 1) It frees the muscle to spread the load 2) It improves blood flow to a the ligaments 3) I like having my arms covered in oil and stroked by a friendly therapist
I know for sure 3 is true, the others maybe
Would also highly recommend getting posture/seating etc sorted if you work at a desk/on a computer
Failing all the above take it easy if "working from home"
