I have never dealt with them before, but asked for provenance and photos on a particular piece and one chap replied with little info and I still havent had photos of the provenance for the piece after 4 days of asking...... If I were the seller I would be livid! Also why do they charge 28% plus BP plus ARR (although again they couldn't even determine if there is ARR to pay). What a shambles and puts me right off bidding now anyway.
7. BUYERβS PREMIUM AND OTHER CHARGES PAYABLE BY THE BUYER
Under the Buyerβs Agreement, a premium (the Buyerβs Premium) is payable to us by the Buyer in accordance with the terms of the Buyerβs Agreement and at rates set out below, calculated by reference to the Hammer Price and payable in addition to it.
For this Sale the following rates of Buyerβs Premium will be payable by Buyers on each Lot purchased:
28% of the Hammer Price on the first Β£40,000; plus
27% of the Hammer Price from Β£40,001 and up to Β£800,000; plus 21% of the Hammer Price from Β£800,001 and up to Β£4,500,000; plus 14.5% of the Hammer Price above Β£4,500,000
Storage and handling charges may also be payable by the Buyer as detailed on the specific Sale Information page at the front of the catalogue.

Been a member here for a longg time but this is my first sale, here goes.
Have this beautiful Nick Smith WHAAM! AP, bought from Rhodes directly who had it framed and on the wall at Woolwich Print Fair.
Ashamed to say I have never had it on the wall in the 2 years I have owned it!
Until photographing it was in the wrapping and still has the original frame bumpers.
It's a great and very impactful piece, unfortunately with living in a shared flat I don't have wall space for half the stuff I own, this being one of the biggest. Hoping the sale will pay to frame a new Bozo and Nick's Radiant Baby.

Price drop to Β£1800 before sending to auction. Hold off, that's far too cheap, especially as it's framed. That's one of the rarer ones and worth Β£2500 framed all day long. Try e bay (they regurlarly have 80% off fee promos), don't put it into an auction unless you have a strong reserve. |
