New print Sandra Chevrier, by Jangaloon on Dec 18, 2015 19:28:10 GMT 1, Hi guys, I just read this whole thread and I will try to explain the best I can. There's 2 way doing screen printing. The first one is to separate almost each colour and print them screen by screen. This is what we did with the previous ones. Because of the complexity of all the shades and the colour she uses and also the collage elements, the printer needs to make artistic choices. At the end, the print is more an interpretation of the original work. We quite liked this idea and still proud of what Giancarlo did but this time we wanted to go somewhere else. The second process is to build each final colour by superimposing different layers of colour.Starting with the paler colour up to the darker ones, using less colour than possible. This process has the function to go deeper in all the shades, the texture and subtlety that an original painting contains. In regard to push the boundaries and try something new, we decided to use this process to make something that looks more like a reproduction of her original painting then an interpretation. We already know that digital printing is the way to go to get a 100% prefect reproduction but we wanted to explore this screen printing method to try something new and go out of our comfort zone. For this print we used  glossy varnish on the eyes to give them a bit of intensity. We also used the glossy varnish on the background to get closer to her original textured background. In this way each print's background are a bit different. Concerning some parts of the text that looks blurry, the reason is each letters are smaller than 1 mm and because of the process ( the letters aren't printed in black but are made of 4 to 6 colours ) the overprint of the ink made the letters a bit bold and blurry. The original painting was 15'' x 60'' and the print is around 12'' x 48''. We downsized all the image including the text. We never screen printed a text that was so tiny before. Each technic have their own limits. The tiny letters was one of them. We decided to accept it as we previously accepted that the colours and details weren't totally accurate on the 2 other ones we released with GP. It was an artistic choice. We are still believing that the overall print works really well. I added some pictures to show what I meant when I talked about each technic's limits. Dark heart original watercolor on paper: Dark Heart print: Original work: 14 colours screen print. If some of you are not comfortable with the print please contact me directly: galeriecoa@gmail.com instead of pmed me and we will work something out. Best regards Jean-Pascal Â

He's a good guy, he'll come back to you. If you're concerned just send him a friendly nudge.

New print Sandra Chevrier, by Press Play on Dec 22, 2015 16:22:07 GMT 1, If anyone would like to get their money back I'll be happy to buy them out including shipping they paid from Canda. Just show me your invoice and I'll pay whatever it says. That way Jean Pascal don't lose a sale and the buyer gets his money back.
I'll step back into the background and awaits PM's
