'The Edge Of The Crater' , by Dan Kitchener on Aug 13, 2015 15:16:07 GMT 1, After a very successful morning painting in the studio, the heavens decided to open, thunder rumbling ominously and lighting streaking across the sky...the light outside dropped, and my studio filled with darkness...my eyes turned to this small oil painting i have been working on, that i'd put aside, continuing my 'Oblivion' series of abstract works, it felt fitting to finish this painting whilst the epic storm raged and tore the skies outside.
Something truly beautiful about these abstract works, hard to define why i like them so much, but the epic, Biblical nature of them, the fire and brimstone and the energy and intensity all excite me. Fractured earth, great chunks of land engulfed in flames and molten rock, sparks and fire shooting outwards, the heat and blast waves as the earth explodes....this piece is entitled 'The edge of the crater' - oil on canvas / 24 x 18 inches - currently > AVAILABLE <
