Even though random winners were selected for some, i'm sure it's certain that the majority of them will still go to VIP's, Friends/Fam ect. I very much doubt that even 100 of the 500 went to complete randoms. 

I think this print was for sale to VIP's even before GDP, but not for the 500 price tag... 

Very true! No we don't know how many were sold at the gdp price. Also as they say, there are more opportunities to come(hopefully).

I think flags is the only one to sell recently haven’t seen the other come up for auction in a while accept Gangsta rat without COA last week.

All-in-all these results in January constitute a 5% increase in the index of Banksy print prices I am compiling, which is pretty impressive given the 15% increase in December and 5% in November (that’s a total 25%+ in one quarter)

This is great stuff. it will really help me on my next purchase, or trade.

Possible next level, could be determining auction versus Gallery prices as an index also spreads between unsigned vs. Signed. I bet those trends will be very interesting and help people make decisions on buying and selling.

2nd-what might be cool is if you could sum the numbers (or some other math thing) and come up with an average multiple between signed and unsigned. So for instance, the signed love rat had a jump in value, so being able to go back and impute what that might mean for the unsigned, would be neat. It would work both ways and might make your estimates more flexible for the same art, just signed or not.

Thats a good idea. The challenge based on a quick look is that signed/unsigned price ratio seems a bit different depending on the specific print. But let me look a bit more into it!

It achieved an insane price at Christie’s last year, I think £30k with the fees. That seems to have distorted values a bit. Probably if you auctioned laugh now at the moment you’d hammer at £24-25k.
