I can't believe people will buy an ILY at £4K, yet this canvas and one other have not moved at £7K.

This one, and the one I think @mattmoo might still have are both great images! Good prices as well.

I'm sure if they sell any of the work from the current show these will look cheap in comparison

I do not think the image is the issue. I just think almost 11k right now is steep for most art for the average person. You also have to think about the economy right now. Probably MOST peoples average budgets go as high as $1k-$3k(obviously not 100%) maybe on this board. For sales like this, your options are probably more limited to sell in a considerably fast amount of time.

I disagree. Put up a banksy print and that theory is blown wide open.

Banksy or not this does not change. Put a signed banksy up for 11k+ or more and it won't sell as fast as a unsigned banksy. Drans work sells on here quickly at prices 3-5k or lower. Dran is not banksy. You decided to pick the 1 person who people love to own or would love to own if they could afford it. Can't use anyone else as an example.

Kind of agree with that, nothing wrong with it either, pure logics ... which is fine by me as I have plenty of time to let it go as I'm happily enjoying it on my wall in the meantime ;-)

The image is most likely the issue. It failed to sell at Digard in Paris appraised at €8-10k. The French love Dran; even they passed.

Two weeks ago, I watched a Donut go for `offers over 8k GBP` in about 2 hours.

Question is "how many people actually even noticed that piece was being offered at Digard at the time" ? ;-)

The timing of that Digard Auction was not best  : 2 weeks before Christmas on a sunday afternoon (while I had been told it would be in November during Miami Art Basel... not quite the same !) I don't know of a single person who logged in online, I personally had much better things to do on that day that to follow an online auction ;-)

My Reserve price was @ £7K (same as my offer price here) as there is no way I'm letting this one go at (what I believe would be) the wrong price, so my asking price was not any different than today...

You Poster Bob don't like the image, that's your call, to each his own... It actually makes no difference whether YOU like the image or not, it just needs to be one person's taste to change hands...I like it enough to have it on my wall until it sells (no matter when that happens) ;-) Cheers
