Yours? Not sure how Bonhams results translate across the Atlantic but in the UK at least the auction house tend to be a great place to buy and a terrible place to sell according to their results. Moron’s seems to be one of the more popular prints at the moment so hopefully you get a good result (if it even belongs to you!)

Yes, it’s my first time selling with them. They were the only auction house to respond in a timely manner to my interest in selling. So far setting this far has been smooth.

Definitely too high in my opinion, I’m sure the auction houses want the estimates much lower, but the sellers are still clinging onto prices for a while back. Digging their heads in the sand comes to mind

Not sure its buried heads, hey would have signed the paperwork months ago, so the prices are possibly old. Also they may only want to sell above that and arent willing to let them go for less. I know i hate the low estimates and would rather protect my pieces from that risk. Better to lose and keep the piece than lose twice in my mind.

If someone desperately needs to sell, then yes buried heads. But if they just want to try for a good price, its protecting their piece in my mind. I nearly lost a treasured piece to a crap reserve, got lucky and it got no bids so i still own it. Although, i did get a fair few “we got an offer of x, y or z after the event, mostly lower than reserve. No chance lol. now i either get a reserve im happy with or i dont even bother. 

For me a good reserve is a dam site lower than youd expect to get, but not low enough to break your heart if you end up on the low end.

Low estimates are one thing but not low reserves! Why take the risk? You always set that at what youre happy with.

I think it's safe to say, that unless you're are incredibly desperate for the cash... you are probably best off waiting a couple of years to sell and riding out the global financial issues that are only going to get worse. This will be 2008 all over again, but a lot worse.

I think you just pay the VAT on the buyers premium so it would add an extra £1k. About £24k all in would be my guess.
