Some great art there..... I would 'one day' like to add a Francis Bacon print to my collection. One of my fav artists, there were a few of his OG's in the Australian Art Museum, nice to see them in the flesh. Although we nearly got kicked out my mum walked across a tiled installation in the Contemporary section!!

Love the Basquiat pieces any collection would benefit from those shame they are After. Amazing the prices he commands even for After pieces when compared to the Warhols.

Theomen agree with you on the $ Warhol very nice would not mind either colour they are really nice. Interested how the Mao goes as I have one (same as Avatar) I bought but not up yet.

I thought the same thing. I truly love Basquiats work, but I can't help feel that 'after' prints are just a way of making money from an artists death. Now I know that that's not always the case but it's my opinion.

There's a few on ebay around the 2K mark so I guess the bonhams valuation is not far off. Interesting to see what that full set on ebay at the moment would end up, not seen many actual auctions on there lately.

i must say, the hirst spot print ed. 500- £1000 estimate does seem a bit low! I didnt know you could pick these up for that kind of money!

It's inscribed on the front "For Ian..." often a decrease in value of prints with personal dedications ...and a rather large edition size!

Spot was a good price but it was inscribed 'For Ian' in pencil so you have to take that in to account. I for one would not want someone else's name on the print

Basquiat are all after and at 10k a pop expensive for prints produced 20 years after the man had died! He made very few screen prints in his lifetime and they arenow very, very expensive. So whilst these are big and colourful, they are effectively just attractive posters.

They are big colourful and signed by Basquiats father, so there is some history to them. but that's it.

Sideways is not the Olympic print, it's from last year, and is about 1/8th the size. Nice thing though. The price was huge - double what it's made before - crazy!

Crazy to think that one of the most iconic Warhol prints hammered for less than is being asked for the sprayed RC on the for sale thread side of this forum. Suggests to me that Banksy prices may be just a BIT high at the moment. Sidelines for me at the moment with few exceptions.
