Bambi π¬π§ Street Art β’ Print Release β’ Art For Sale, by Shoot Again on May 25, 2011 12:42:35 GMT 1, Apparently it's a "she" ? My girlfriend has bumpted today into her workarts at Walton Fine Arts (in Walton Street London) and asked me if I ever heard of her. I had to confess I haven't. Can anybody tell me a bit more ?
www.waltonfinearts.com/art/bambi/
PS : This is NOT an advertising campain, it's a genuine question to you experts guys. I'm specifying this as last time I asked sth abouth an unknown supposed artist (EMO), everybody jump to my throat accusing me of being him ! ;-)

Bambi π¬π§ Street Art β’ Print Release β’ Art For Sale, by saint on May 25, 2011 12:46:16 GMT 1, I remember the hero to zero piece of hers down clerkenwell road where the old petrol station was. Was a lot of chat about her at the time, mostly i believe cos it looked like tim westwood holding a badly stencilled dog.
IMO (my opinion) its badly executed recycled blah blah blah thats been seen a billion times before. If you dont have Banksys humour, don't try his style. Just my opinion of course, i'm sure others will disagree.

Bambi π¬π§ Street Art β’ Print Release β’ Art For Sale, by Shoot Again on May 25, 2011 13:27:52 GMT 1, I like the answer I read on your Thread ("At 600 GBP for a print from a run of 100 by someone called Bambi it would appear the Bambi train already left the station about 550 GBP ago") ;-)

Bambi π¬π§ Street Art β’ Print Release β’ Art For Sale, by stickitup on May 27, 2011 12:27:46 GMT 1, the stencils look like they have been cut nicely though, shame the spray technique is not quite as crisp as it might have been - perhaps intentionally. The Burka one is a nice piece

Bambi π¬π§ Street Art β’ Print Release β’ Art For Sale, by Goooogle Male on Jan 21, 2012 0:56:55 GMT 1, just to be clear...you are Walton Fine Arts, aren't you? Or is the signed BME you are selling just a co-incidence as well. No-one has a problem with galleries advertising their wares here, but being open and honest is a much better way of doing things.

^ This. As for the image and execution, it is imo, sub-hutch, with a Muslim-baiting title bringing it firmly into the realm of distasteful.

Bambi π¬π§ Street Art β’ Print Release β’ Art For Sale, by UK Art Dealer on Jan 21, 2012 14:58:17 GMT 1, Hi,
Just to clear up any confusion I am not from Waltons, I was just using the link as an example of the piece, primerily because Walton's are the agent for Bambi the artist. I am however a dealer, mainly in Banksy.
Hope that helps!

Bambi π¬π§ Street Art β’ Print Release β’ Art For Sale, by pezlow on Jan 21, 2012 15:44:07 GMT 1, Sorry but I have to say that piece is shockingly poor. A fine art gallery thinking it can cash in on "mug" street art collectors I suspect.

Bambi π¬π§ Street Art β’ Print Release β’ Art For Sale, by pezlow on Jan 21, 2012 17:02:27 GMT 1, Been looking at this blog a bit more and I have to say it makes me angry. Check out this post
www.waltonfinearts.com/blog/art-work-discussions/bambi-kate-and-will-a-bit-like-marmite
First the art is dreadful. And secondly what the hell does this mean:
"An image of this street piece was taken unlawfully at the time by Getty Images"

Bambi π¬π§ Street Art β’ Print Release β’ Art For Sale, by Shoot Again on Jan 21, 2012 19:02:02 GMT 1, Last time I walked into Walton Street (to check artworks at Andipa and Vinyl Factory) I happened to see that Walton Fine Art Gallery, you guys have to go and check it yourself, it's such a joke ! IMO it used to be a carpet shop (father still have a small room with some carpets next door...) which has been transformed into a "street art" gallery by the son who's trying to cash in on the ignorance (of Market prices) of some of the (wealthy) people living in the area ! Some Bambi pieces (which the guy openly advertises as the new Banksy, claiming he's selling 3 per day) and the rest are massively overpriced prints (Murakami, N.Walker, ...) Unfortunately, I'm afraid more and more such places are bound to be open just to cash in on an art movement that has become more mainstream ;-(

Bambi π¬π§ Street Art β’ Print Release β’ Art For Sale, by Shoot Again on Jan 21, 2012 19:14:20 GMT 1,
Hopefully you didn't pay too much for it cos I doubt you'll find anybody in here paying more than Β£20 for it ! Good luck with your sale but your best shot is probably to try to sell it on eBay not forgetting to put "Banksy" somewhere on your ad, which you proabably have done already ;-)

Bambi π¬π§ Street Art β’ Print Release β’ Art For Sale, by UK Art Dealer on Jan 22, 2012 13:34:55 GMT 1, Sorry didn't mean to appear quiet!!! They sold originally for Β£1000 a pop. Now all sold out. I spoke to a guy who had one and was putting it into a London auction with an estimate of Β£800 to Β£1000 - will be interesting to see what it goes for. They do look stunning on the wall though if you see one in the flesh so to speak!
