I think these canvases are just awful.
Regarding the people who have expressed "interest", I suspect that either they don't really buy art or they have been collecting for less than two years. My advice would be to not pay too much attention to those who don't know what they are talking about.
This comes across less as a knowing nod to Banksy than as tired work by a wannabe Banksy. It won't get you anywhere. At most, you may receive a few chuckles from people who are easily amused. If you are tempted by the thought of paying homage or tribute, it's best to wait until you have first developed a style of your own.
There is a great deal to be said about coming up with original ideas, or at least trying to.
If you can do better, don't settle for mediocrity.

Eyesaw π¬π§ Street Art β’ Print Release , by bmjt on Jul 30, 2008 9:05:09 GMT 1, I guess he is alluding to your taste developing and maturing, ie. you've probably seen enough work to have developed a spectrum and scale of what you like, don't like within the street art sphere and can thus make better judgements on what to buy and how the image might age. Like a fashion sense I guess, it takes to while to know what's out there and to develop your own personal style by learning from your mistakes etc. Just my take on it.
Edit: I've only been 'collecting' for a few months and have definitley seen a change in what i've been interested in buying, eg. at the start I was a bit overcome by how much is out there and bought badly. As time has passed my choice and taste has developed, as it continues to do.

Eyesaw π¬π§ Street Art β’ Print Release , by Avian Security on Jul 30, 2008 10:00:03 GMT 1, What happens after two years then?
After 2 years you are automatically invited to the 'urban art investor's club' and receive email updates on what to buy and what to dump. Until then you run the risk of accidentally buying something that you actually like. Classic mistake.
PS I think the lezza coppers are funny and sexy, Eyesaw's got the Banksy rework theme sewed up. A bit of reworking can help an artist develop his own style, I think it's all good (says he of the blatant Obey ripoff sticker campaign).
