This is so beautiful but I can not understand why artists would even bother making canvasses this small? Imagine the impact it would make if it were 24 by 30 inches at the very least, everyone would consider buying it, but I guess the price would be double! GLWTS, it’s lovely nonetheless!

I actually love the size! For two reasons. As a college student it's almost impossible to buy an original Hayuk. I can't justify a piece for 10k+ right now. I'm also running out of wall space. 

Some college student budget you must have !

It's worth noting that the most common sized canvas for Warhol measures exactly 20x16 inches so there must be something to it. From soup cans at the beginning, death and disaster to early portraits like jackie (i believe every jackie is 20x16 save for the few round ones) and right on through the late ad series to his death.  If it was good enough for him...

No problem with the fact that a particular canvas size was embraced by Warhol. Or that Warhol considered the size good enough and suitable for his own work.

However, the implied argument advanced in your concluding text with the ellipsis is flawed in my view.

Hmm, don't want to dive down a rabbit hole here as the poster wants to sell a hayuk. The point being warhol enthusiasts know that a standard issue Warhol measures 20x16 inches. Let's try that ending a second time: This is the first time I've encountered a complaint that typical Warhol is too small...(must have been a throwaway albeit on a lazy sunday) Good luck in your sale msobel3 and apologies for barging in.

Based on some price lists received directly from her studio last year, I'd say that $4500+ is a fair price for this. Just my two cents. Again, if I had the money, I'd jump on this in a heartbeat.

lovely piece - glws. i would be all over it if only it wasn't for the various shades of brown. would love an og but it is just so rare to find one that has as good balance/colour choice as her best prints (in my opinion/to my palette at least)

I hear what you are saying Jeeves, (and I would say this) but when viewed the browns kinda fade into the background and maybe help the pinks/reds/blues to pop out. But yeah brown is no one's favourite colour!
