New Nick Walker, by bomber88 on Oct 11, 2014 0:29:27 GMT 1, New book release
Besides print and figure there is also a book mentioned which looks like a bargain for £25 if you include the hand finished stencil. email reads - 'Finally got my book made and it’s going to be available at the opening of my show. There will normal copies to purchase as well as signed versions with a hand finished stencil. It covers a fair old bit of work and gives a little insight as to what I’ve been up to for the last twenty years, and saying that there is actually a section in the book called ‘Procrastination’. For pre-orders, please contact info@theartofnickwalker.com. The cost of the book is £25, plus shipping charges TBC.

New Nick Walker, by Deleted on Oct 11, 2014 2:26:37 GMT 1, Can he not do a TMA Ridley Road, Dalston or TMA Elephant & Castle? Certainly something a bit more iconic than this tat.... TMA Amsterdam would be much appreciated. Then again, Amsterdam doesn't really have an iconic landmark that a lot of people would recognize i think.

Bet the last time Nick Walker conducted art that was not by appointment and painted a wall whereby he risked getting his collar felt was last decade!

New Nick Walker, by Dr Plip on Oct 11, 2014 10:43:53 GMT 1, I noticed they have a gap in their designers page. I'm sure, like me, they must dislike that kind of asymmetry, so I might try to add my face there? While I have no background in art, design, street art or ceramics, I thought why not send them some of my drawings? I mean, I might go the other way? Start on plates, then move to prints, then cap my career by writing on walls in the street?
What's the worst that can happen? I already expect to be rejected. This is very exciting.
Edit: Just noticed that Gordon's the only designer with his name above Royal Doulton's. I don't like that at all.

Probably best not to send in images of slaughtered animals (not sure if you were thinking about it or not), eating a plate of sausages then when you wolf the last one down you're confronted by an image of a slaughtered pig will likely make them a little wary and damage your chances in the selection process, if your going down the animal route best make them all happy looking ie mummy pig laying in the sun being suckled by her 10 little piglets is a less unsettling image to look at after feasting on a plate of animal, just a thought

New Nick Walker, by Dr Plip on Oct 11, 2014 12:00:47 GMT 1, As has already been said, many artists have ventured into ceramics and ceramic design. Nothing wrong with that. I can appreciate that some people might not like what could be considered the "gentrification" (for want of a better term) of street art or graffiti. But you could also look at it as pushing boundaries?
I think Pure Evil said he wanted to see his plate on Antiques Roadshow one day. That shows his tongue is well and truly in his cheek on this one. I like that.
Nick Walker takes a bit of a bashing on here though sometimes. Why is that?

Ok. No drawings of slaughtered animals. That's lovely Dr Plip, could be Royal Doultons version of Peppa Pig plates, the little rainbow going behind the big pig is a lovely touch with some of the little piggies joyfully searching for the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow, that's a winner!!

Ad nauseum...recycles a concept that was at best mediocre in the first place...and the concept does not get better, more refined, more intricate or interesting...it just gets more more banal, duller..heck..even Hirst has a pop at painting parrots and producing huge viagra pills on a down day from the spots!!!
