BNE πΊπΈ BNE Was Here β’ Stickers β’ Street Art, by Lroy on Dec 20, 2014 9:03:03 GMT 1, Thank You Nordicstar.
Respect is the master word. BNE played with people as checkers in a game. I know they call it internet, they call it street-art, they call it, money, basket, shop, ship, chap... It is not a game. We are notmoney pumps. Where is the Hype here ? The art performance here ? Banksy ? Not Banksy ? Only trade, bizness etc... No more. Cheap in the mind but expensive one ! Fans are not cash cows ! Anyway, there is rules when you buy in a real shop or on the web : you must respect and be polite with the customer whatever the price ( here is was not chewing-gums ) and second, you must notice the price and notify all details about the item. Here we could complain about BNE But I won't create any syndicate, nor a page on fracebook , lol.

It all depends if anyone has made an official complaint, also the IRS usually looks at income.
He seems to be avoiding direct questions which implies something.

BNE πΊπΈ BNE Was Here β’ Stickers β’ Street Art, by randomname on Dec 20, 2014 16:58:43 GMT 1, I have a friend who works in Homeland Security. Previously, he worked for the FBI. I've been debating asking if he knows anyone who works in internet or art fraud. My only hessitation is I didn't fall for it, so I'm not a victim. I'm not sure if I want to get myself mixed up in this. But I think if someone looks into it, this wouldn't turn out particularly good for him.

Also i thought Faile pulled out also? Perhaps they could make a complaint also?

BNE πΊπΈ BNE Was Here β’ Stickers β’ Street Art, by Deleted on Dec 20, 2014 17:05:51 GMT 1, I think that people who bought anything on the basis that money would also go to the water charity have the right to demand proof of how much money was raised and a trail of that money as to where it ended up.
If the friend who works for the Eye has knowledge of any complaints or issues, I doubt they would disclose that anyway.

So he could be on the hook for income tax evasion here in a few months when taxes are due.

Yeah i edited that part in also Yeah, if I had bought one of the shirts, I probably would file a complaint. But I filed with Paypal as soon as I found out Banksy wasn't involved and got my money back.
I was thinking more along the lines of letting someone higher up know about it and see if a guy stealing a large sum of money intended for charity is of any interest to them.
But if anyone who did buy a shirt wants to file a complaint, here's where to do it.

BNE πΊπΈ BNE Was Here β’ Stickers β’ Street Art, by aldoxzx on Dec 20, 2014 18:21:02 GMT 1, Not defending the guy but, what exactly did he steal? If you didn't like that the money wasn't going to charity you asked, and got, a refund no questions asked. If you didn't like that the shirts weren't limited you asked and got a refund. If you didn't like him saying he was involved with Banksy and wasn't, you got a refund.
He did not keep money from anyone and for whatever reason if you wanted your money back you got it.
Also, Paypal automatically sends the IRS your account information once you hit a certain threshold, which he most likely did easily.

BNE πΊπΈ BNE Was Here β’ Stickers β’ Street Art, by Lroy on Dec 20, 2014 18:58:33 GMT 1, To aldoxzx : Maybe he gives refunds ( after how many mails or claims ? ) , but imagine : all the time wasting, these " fears ", the money going " we don't knwo where " , etc, etc... He wrote for the print ( not for the tees ) that there will not have any refunds. I am sure of that. And paypal stops refunds ( or blocking the money ) after 2 months.

Also, Paypal automatically sends the IRS your account information once you hit a certain threshold, which he most likely did easily. The t-shirt money was pretty cut and dry fraud. He offered refunds after Banksy said he wasn't involved, but said he would collaborate with another artist and the money would all still go to charity. He also said that whoever stuck with him would be rewarded with a $5,000 print for $100, which he later raised to $500. We all know how that turned out.
After a good amount of time had passed, long enough for Paypal's dispute window to expire, he delivered a half assed shirt with no art to speak of. Someone on here had even mocked up the same joke a few months before, which is where he probably got the idea.
If that's had been the extent of his shenanigans, he probably would have been fine. But then he said the charity refused his donation because the money was collected under false pretenses. He then said he would find another charity to give it to.
If he had followed through, he still probably would have been fine. But he lied and said that some mysterious person had contacted every single charity known to man and that no one would take his money. And because of that, he would keep the money and spend it as he saw fit. That's where he crossed the line.
He didn't offer any refunds at that point. He simply kept the money and has likely been living off it ever since.
As for the income tax evasion, he collected the money as charitable donations. If he tries to claim that it's tax exempt, he could find himself in a fair bit of trouble.

That would be a fair amount of drugs. I don't think I could even get through that much.

None of these things are related. The original shirt sale (the "100" Faile/Invader/Fairey shirts) were not limited, but anyone who wanted a refund got one. I know several people asked for a refund, got one, and didn't have to send back their shirt.
Delivering a half-assed shirt is not fraud. It's just delivering a s**tty shirt. Wasn't the original purchase page a shirt with a question mark on it or something? That's like buying a "mystery" tube from an artist and getting crap.
I have not seen one person in this thread saying they asked for a refund and didn't get it. Got a post to quote? AFAIK anyone who asked for a refund got one. If you didn't like the charity shenanigans you were free to get your money back. I personally bought a Faile scuba horse shirt and kept it.. whatever it didn't go to charity, but I still have my shirt that I am fine with.
Also, Paypal's window running out does not limit your options - you could still file a chargeback, call your bank, etc.
Just to be clear, this way this guy has done business is really dumb and shady, but if he actually took people's money (as in, someone asked for their money back and didn't get it), this thread would be more along the lines of the recent thread about the artist who didn't deliver the OGs.

If I had to guess, I'd blame it on drugs. People do stupid things when too many chemicals are floating around in their heads. Love it when the Daily Mail comes out to play.
Anyone got their Banksy's delivered yet should be dropping soon for Christmas.
