Thanks dibbs great pics. I just love the fact that no two shows are the same with Adam, there is always progression and a new way of doing things. Will pop in next week to take a look. Most of the larger pieces seem to be sold, strikes me as the first time Elms have placed red dots next to pieces during the show

For me Adam Neate is a genuine, genuine talent... he is not a flipper artist .

No way. I haven't come across a single elms piece for more than 30k from the gallery. Hopefully they haven't upped the prices.

It was just a guess based on I think hearing the cycling originals were £25k and they were a lot smaller and less complex.

Cracking photos there Dibbs45. Must agree with Dice I would think the larger pieces in the 30+ mark.

At the last show mind was two years ago there was just one piece in the 50k bracket and it was massive

So would be very surprised if there pricing has changed that much but that's not based on anything other than......well nothing really!!!

Not only that I think his work stays on your wall as well. There is something special about his pieces they really do have great depth.

I love the way he often uses the same piece but develops it and re works it further and creates a new piece that is familiar.

really is a true talent.

In the last show (the one prior to the history retrospective) I thought the most expensive piece was the massive (approx 1.5m x 1m) incandescent portrait which was £30k plus vat? Which piece have you seen for 50k? That represents quite a Jump IMO

Hey it did not sell at the show and it was a stunning piece of work so I might be right!! It was in Singapore i. The Jan and have a feeling it sold there but do not know for definite

Not 100% sure sounds like a lot though! 60000 Great British Pounds inc vat.

I know that the 3D Perspex portraits in that show were 28k plus vat so not sure 59k is right as it's only a little bigger and perhaps less involved. It was an amazing piece tho

Ha ha yes snook that in as only pic Elms had of that big one.

It was pretty complex as I remember with about 4 layers. But it wa two years ago and was too big as well as too expensive for me whatever it cost!!

Just as an aside to the comments. Paul said that he has worked with a number of great artists, but the reason he stays with Adam only is because he works hard on trying new things and progressing from one piece to another which all seemed to be linked. The pieces look like they have taken some time and effort to execute. He really thought about this show and the pieces have great depth. I went to the last show as well as this one and as Dice says the shows are never the same, always different. Wish I had the Arthur Ash to make a purchase one day of an original. Refreshing to see some proper art and not some derivative nonsense that some artists are churning out.

Got along to this today, all I can say is Wow. Utterly stunning, no photos do the pieces justice and definitely worth heading down to London for. Particular favourites for me were the horse race, concert pianist and ship of fools.

Was gutted to miss the preview but managed to make it to Elms today, as always it surprised and amazed. No matter how much his new work progresses it easy to see influences of his older pieces throughout the show, good to see Adam using cardboard again, always loved the older cardboard paintings hope and to see more in the future.

Especially liked, the Brothers , Ship of Fools and The Dog Walkers which had a feel of the old dark heart series. Its seems like a long time since I stumbled upon his work with the Paintings Pots & Prints exhibition in 2007, interested to know how people feel about this new body of work and how it sits with his catalogue so far, going to try and make it to the Q&A this week it will be good to try and understand his thought processes and where he thinks it will take him.

I saw some photos online before going to Elms, and felt a little disappointed by what I saw.
However, when I saw them in the flesh I was blown away, you really cannot comment on this work from viewing photos alone.

My favourites were Brothers and Ship of Fools too.
I much prefer this new work over the perspex stuff.

I asked and one of the owners said the 'horse racing' piece was £33k. Not sure if that included VAT as it was so far out of my budget I didn't ask

I'm still waiting for mine, I decided to go and see it in person last week, and I think it looks even better in person than in photos, the amount of work that has gone in to such a large run is amazing, the stapling, embossing, de-bossing, uv paint and foils really do give it dimension and character and it looks very different depending on whether its spot lit, in shadow, or naturally light. Paul mentioned there is also additional silkscreening that was done over the lithograph. The framing is also first class, and Paul said it added a lot to the price.

The rest of the show was spectacular, as mentioned by others photos really don't do the show justice, the works look amazing in the flesh. I'm looking forward to the Q&A next week.

there are no pieces there above 35k.

and i think photos do it justice, they're awesome pieces and it's not like the photos hide anything!  I always find it odd when people say that about art...pictures in their essence absolutely capture images.  Now, if the exhibition was about emotions and the point was to make someone feel fear, or love, or sympathy then yes...you can't capture that on film.  This (and every print that people say 'pics don't do it justice') can absolutely and accurately be portrayed by the pictures.
