New Neate editions - London Bridge and The Cyclist, by Deleted on Sept 3, 2014 8:06:10 GMT 1, I'll buck the trend and say the cyclist is my fav. Not sure of the appeal of London Bridge - spend enough time during the day with folks in suits, not sure I want to see any more on my walls while I'm trying to relax.

New Neate editions - London Bridge and The Cyclist, by johnnyh on Sept 3, 2014 8:44:22 GMT 1, He did a set of originals based on cycling at his last show a couple of years ago. They are let's say not his norm but really unique.
Strange yet I have only seen one new piece the last time I was over at Elms and it used a lot of the techniques in the cyclist originals in the new work although a completely different subject. That piece was a cracker as well which is why must say very excited about this show.
I think if the cyclist appeals it's a really unique piece. That he really loves his cyclist work and has done a few pieces now. Think it's because it allows him to really include movement. A lot of his work and this show title refers to Dimensional so I suppose this allows the use of movement as a dimension. Just as he uses movement in a lot in his portraits.
So you might be bucking the trend on here but are probably on trend with A.Neate I suspect.

New Neate editions - London Bridge and The Cyclist, by Hubble Bubble on Sept 3, 2014 12:14:23 GMT 1, My only gripe with the cyclist piece is - and bear with me here - as a cyclist, it's very rare you'd shift your weight like that if on the flat. Weight shifting when you're out of the saddle is really for hill climbing or accelerating through a rise… it would have looked better if the cyclist had been going up hill.

New Neate editions - London Bridge and The Cyclist, by Dice on Sept 3, 2014 21:58:29 GMT 1, These are nice editions but what's with the edition sizes? 50 or 100 would have been ok but 175? That's quite a lot. I would have preferred a smaller Edition to make them more exclusive. I think Elms have been swayed somewhat by the hug edition of 100 selling out in an hour or 2, not realising of course that most people bought them not to keep but to sell. Basically not sure that Elms really and truly understand the market for these dimensional editions.

Agree with what your saying..these new ones and the last hug (that looked like Neil from the young ones) won't go up in value like the first batch. Been so many on here trying to sell their hug2 blaming their wives (meaning there weren't going up in value so had to try to sell at cost.) Love his work and still aiming to buy the first hug he did, but won't be going do these two.

One day I will buy a nice neate original and when I do I will probably sell my original hug (1st edition).. It's a really great piece though. I also have the reclining nude edition which I think is a fantastic contemporary take on the genre, I prefer it to the hug actually and v surprised it hasn't sold out yet. Have it over the bed and it looks the business.

I don`t think they will sell out very fast, im a bit put off by the edition size, seems like they are trying to "cash" in on the success of the previous release - im sure they will be available at cost in the coming weeks/months if anyone does miss out!

New Neate editions - London Bridge and The Cyclist, by Deleted on Sept 4, 2014 10:11:45 GMT 1, i agree
Don't think they will fly out
I would imagine the cost of production costs and the John Jones framing would make these quite a bit to make, so possibly when crunching the figures had to increase the run?
Ready to hang on the wall, they would look silly in a portfolio, and even sillier on ebay
