Adam Pointer Portrait by Paul Insect on ebay, by seidbereit on Jan 5, 2008 17:03:24 GMT 1, this one: 200189604841 Not mine (I wish it was though) Does anyone know anything about it, like whether it was part of an exhibition.. I think it's a real beauty, but pretty steep pricewise.
Can anyone give me a bit of guidance re: what might be a fair offer to make for an Insect edition of 1?
Many thanks!

Adam Pointer Portrait by Paul Insect on ebay, by seidbereit on Jan 5, 2008 17:34:27 GMT 1, nice, very nice. have not seen this before. price wise mate what can you afford. i always think dont take the piss on best offers. i think you get 3 offers so have a price in mind and go from there. i agree though a little steep good luck
The only thing really holding me up with making an offer is the fact it's a "Giclee inkjet"... I don't really know where that stands in the hierarchy of techniques (i.e. when compared with a hand-pulled print). Gonna keep me eye on it til I know more, but thanks for the advice.

Not suggesting there is, but still don't know where to place it in terms of how much input the artist really had. Been browsing through the Giclees thread from SG time (when the 3ds were released) to refresh myself..

Adam Pointer Portrait by Paul Insect on ebay, by neutral on Jan 5, 2008 19:17:57 GMT 1, This one was exhibited at Cosh. I dont get the numbering 1/1 thingy as it supposed to mean there is just one. So why number it then?

I think Giclee prints are now well established within the art market, it does not stop Adam Neate's flying out the door I was a little sceptical at first but now I have a few I'm totally OK with them, some works simply would not work as silkscreens and I think Giclee is more personal than litho so I guess that is the argument for them.

Did wonder about the numbering... what exactly is it an artist's proof of? Calling it an AP seems to suggest there was a numbered edition which there evidently wasn't. Still a cracker though. Cheers for the info about Cosh.

Adam Pointer Portrait by Paul Insect on ebay, by darjeeling on Jan 5, 2008 20:35:06 GMT 1, I think Giclee is more personal than litho so I guess that is the argument for them. no matter what I say people will think and say what they want to believe about giclees (especially if they have money invested in them ) so I'm not going to resurrect the argument, but there is no way a digital printed giclee is more personal than a litho. I used to work in a fine art printshop that did artist lithographs and the amount of work that goes into them is extraordinary by both the artist who works the plates and the master printer.

This could seem a steal in time

Adam Pointer Portrait by Paul Insect on ebay, by Harveyn on Jan 5, 2008 21:10:43 GMT 1, As an A/P 1/1 that would suggest that there was an edition run.
I would want to know the details behind that edition.
If it does not exist then this seems a very fair price and I would certainly start somewhere over Β£2k. The seller might be a forum member and therefore there might be an opportunity to avoid fees (both ebay and paypal).
I would also want to know exact details about framing (conservation standards etc.)
