OUTIS • Print Release • Street Art, by Graffiti Prints on Jul 9, 2015 16:44:57 GMT 1, Is that Warhol and Basquiat on the left?
Yes
Ok have not spoke out but will now it's finished
I think your all missing the point
Yes last time it was hyped by the artist that caught me out big time
long story as we all know try to make this short.
This time no nothing, no hype the opposite just a few posts
His statement is if you take way the brand what do you have
Well we took away everything from last time and imo did a better image and he sold 96 so I moved up to 101 read into that what you want.
So I think he proved his point - if you take away the brand what do you have left
Where's the street work, where is the body of work or the hard work for him to fall back on
I know everyone loves to bite me but that was the whole point I knew the print could not sell as well, as way to long after last one hype was dead told him that too.
Hype Had to be dead.
But after last time it had to be closed off for us so this is exactly what we have done!
If that's a good thing for collectors who bought the 101 edition I don't know I don't make people buy!
I know your feelings the image is shit, worth fook all etc but take a sec and think about it
I do think the whole thing of the two prints releases says loads of things about speculation, hype, banksy craziness, prices, secondary market, consumers hyping a print secondary, eBay, buy it now best offer propping up people's perception of prices etc and totally makes his point about taking the brand away. But this paragraph will get brushed under the carpet as last time I mentioned it
I have had a weird crappy year nothing to do with business and it's made me think why I'm doing it etc
First off no more releases till sept
Brand New site, more contemporary prints etc. reveal details end August
we make some of the best screen prints in the world from our knowledge and relationships we have built up with our printers so getting back to that with all my fav artists as I'm not a service and going back to just printing what we dig!
We don't want to be held back by the graffiti moniker that sometimes graffiti prints does and artists who want us to print more contemporary works.
More details to follow opening new site early sept with a very special print never been done before in urban art prints by a great artist
Nothing more to say on outis think he said it so well himself

OUTIS • Print Release • Street Art, by Happy Shopper on Jul 9, 2015 18:23:10 GMT 1, Graffiti Prints does get a lot of stick on here, and I've never really understood why. I've only ever ordered one print from them, but it was well packaged and the quality was spot on. Several prints on the site are not for me, but why do people on here react like they've been personally insulted? This is someone trying to make a living by getting off their arse and supporting artists they believe in. Good luck with the new site, GP. I think the small amount of vitriol on this thread has been directed at the art and artist, not really GP. But they choose to release this stuff... so that comes with the territory.

Banksy tried to make this same point himself with the canvases in NY... Real Banksy work released secretly didn't sell... but that's also because people thought they must be fake.
Outis has proved nothing except that you can trick people into buying a print by hinting that it might be by Banksy... even if it's not very good... and then you decided to release another one, which makes you look a bit bad again to be honest.

But all those point apply to the outis prints otherwise I would not have made them I made the point before about eBay and buy it now best offer killing fair prices secondary
Either work stands up secondary at auction on eBay or it does not imo
I always list my stuff when selling on there at £99 and see where it hits
Which is usually what I expected anyway!

Agreed. Nothing about Outis really makes sense to me. He/She has no street work (that i know of) has released 2 prints in the last 2 years, and yet, still, we're talking about him/her/it like the 'artist' is something more than a one trick pony at best (and that first trick solely being because of the whole 99.9% not banksy hype aurora which the first (Awful imo) print was presented under)...
Whoever outis is needs to actually develop and generate a lot more output before even demanding the attention and respect that they hope to garner (mostly b/c of again, the 99% not banksy marketing ploy)...
Buy what you want, i guess. but at least buy it because you like it and not because of the false hope attached to it. I'd love to see pics of all the people 'buying to frame.' haha. He's like an amateur MBW, whose work we all know was largely propped up (and still is) by his ETTGS association to banksy (and the initial $$$ hopes that it was a banksy side project disguised as a made up person)..

I for one have always appreciated GP and would agree the quality of your prints and affordability is something to be proud of. Its unfortunate that some give you a hard time, but I guess letting your artists have too much influence over the releases has not always reflected well on GP and leaves you to deal with all of the flak it brings.
I understand the points you make about the lack of marketing and hype and i think selling 96 copies has to be regarded as a success, especially after all of the backlash from the first release.....and even here again since the announcement.
I hope you manage to grow a thicker skin on your break - some people just want to break your balls for the fun of it so let it go - you don't need to defend everything and most of us genuinely appreciate GP and what it has brought to the scene.
I look forward to see the new directions you will be taking and wish you the best of luck

Understands how hype can be detrimental to print releases , suppose goes around in circles
But it's different point of view coming from a collector to a business model generating cash

These points perhaps apply to ALL hyped prints. Outis did nothing other than use manipulation to trick some people into buying a print they hoped was by Banksy. That hype carried through to people wanting to buy on the secondary market too... Until everyone realised they'd been fooled.
BIN prices are no different to Gallery Prices, so I don't understand your point. Anyone can name a high price but it's selling prices that count. Except of course when people use false sales... Is that what you mean?

I know your feelings the image is s**t, worth fook all etc but take a sec and think about it I do think the whole thing of the two prints releases says loads of things about speculation, hype, banksy craziness, prices, secondary market, consumers hyping a print secondary, eBay, buy it now best offer propping up people's perception of prices etc and totally makes his point about taking the brand away. But this paragraph will get brushed under the carpet as last time I mentioned it I have had a weird crappy year nothing to do with business and it's made me think why I'm doing it etc First off no more releases till sept Brand New site, more contemporary prints etc. reveal details end August we make some of the best screen prints in the world from our knowledge and relationships we have built up with our printers so getting back to that with all my fav artists as I'm not a service and going back to just printing what we dig! We don't want to be held back by the graffiti moniker that sometimes graffiti prints does and artists who want us to print more contemporary works. More details to follow opening new site early sept with a very special print never been done before in urban art prints by a great artist Nothing more to say on outis think he said it so well himself Sorry to hear you've had such a crap year and hope your break will help get everything on an even keel. I hope you manage to grow a thicker skin on your break - some people just want to break your balls for the fun of it so let it go - you don't need to defend everything and most of us genuinely appreciate GP and what it has brought to the scene.I look forward to see the new directions you will be taking and wish you the best of luck While I have no problem whatsoever with the rest of your post, it isn't fair to make the comment highlighted in red.

Yes Ok have not spoke out but will now it's finished I think your all missing the point Yes last time it was hyped by the artist that caught me out big time long story as we all know try to make this short. This time no nothing, no hype the opposite just a few posts His statement is if you take way the brand what do you have Well we took away everything from last time and imo did a better image and he sold 96 so I moved up to 101 read into that what you want. So I think he proved his point - if you take away the brand what do you have left Where's the street work, where is the body of work or the hard work for him to fall back on I know everyone loves to bite me but that was the whole point I knew the print could not sell as well, as way to long after last one hype was dead told him that too. Hype Had to be dead. But after last time it had to be closed off for us so this is exactly what we have done! OUTIS • Print Release • Street Art, by sparky999 on Jul 9, 2015 20:16:37 GMT 1, Personally if someone told me this was my Banksy I would completely believe it, think his stuff is pretty awful in general and this fits the bill. I can't tell if you're being serious or not. It's cool to say you don't like banksy, but this in no way looks like a work of his. They're in completely difference universes. Think this print is as good as Morons or Golf Sale - all 3 are garbage

Easy there Met. Many members have posted in past threads our appreciation for GP.
Overall post seem to be in a positive light.
I happen to appreciate GP and all he has done for our little art collecting community.

BIN prices are no different to Gallery Prices, so I don't understand your point. Anyone can name a high price but it's selling prices that count. Except of course when people use false sales... Is that what you mean?
[/quote]
No I only mean BIN killing secondary I Remember this place and selling before it
people would say it's worth X no one would bite
It would get listed on eBay and Maybe they got less or more
thus making it a fair guide of the secondary price in the market IMO
Yes can be shill bided here and there but in general a good guide much more real
Only winner with BIN is eBay with the fees not the customer, seller or market
I hate BIN wish it did not exist I hate to see the artists I work with listed like that prefer £99 auction and make it transparent

"A straw man is a common form of argument and is an informal fallacy based on giving the impression of refuting an opponent's argument, while actually refuting an argument which was not advanced by that opponent."
From the internet.

There is no comparison as this is a rip off of Morons. Morons was original in execution so it is 100x better than then the Outis ripoff for that simple reason.

Morons was a statement about people buying street art in general.

OUTIS • Print Release • Street Art, by tab1 on Jul 9, 2015 23:03:44 GMT 1, Comparing to banksy again , not on par , different era , time moves on , be more creative
Look at the back catalogue of both artists work , nothing comparable
10 k of sales in a day something's going right !
It's the previous release that has lost a lot of faith in the outlet.
Still at £100 a lot for an unknown artist with no history which looks computer generated / photoshopped

OUTIS • Print Release • Street Art, by 11 on Jul 10, 2015 0:24:11 GMT 1, Sorry to hear you've had such a crap year and hope your break will help get everything on an even keel. The text may reflect what you genuinely believe, which would be fine if it were qualified as such. As currently worded, however, it purports to state the feelings and opinions of most of the members on this forum, when most have neither expressed their views on the subject nor given you a mandate to do so on their behalf. You are correct - I should have added (IMO) to the end of that sentence.
