Ian Francis Deathstar, value?, by thwaites on Dec 11, 2007 1:36:32 GMT 1, Hey all
Can anyone tell me how much Ian Francis 'A Deathstar Explodes! No, A Chinese Satellite' might be worth? I have one (which I love) but am in need of many pennies and may have to sell it. I am not at all sure of the value of this so any help is mucho appreciated.
Many thanks and good tidings

Ian Francis Deathstar, value?, by Dellboyy on Dec 11, 2007 2:19:36 GMT 1, Hi,
I've got a deathstar so i'm trying to follow the value for insurance purposes.
It's not easy however as i've only ever seen two sold from memory, one on ebay ages ago for 1k, and more recently lieberman gallery sold one. They said it was for less than ยฃ1k, and my guess is ยฃ900 as they have a japanese couple on sale from the same edition for ยฃ900.
On another note, i've got a friend who's quite keen to get hold of a deathstar after seeing mine, so i'm sure he'd be very interested if you do sell! :-)

Ian Francis Deathstar, value?, by Filipino Box Spring Hog on Dec 11, 2007 5:11:35 GMT 1, I purchased mine for 1k - $2,000 u.s. - I'd say that's the value of the print - as dellboyy said, the only others I've seen sell have been what he's listed plus one other person I know purchased one for $2,000 months ago...a few weeks after I purchased mine.
I'd say any and all of those first Blk/Mrkt Francis 25 edition prints are worth $2000 plus or minus a wee bit...

Ian Francis Deathstar, value?, by Matt-lock on Dec 11, 2007 5:35:44 GMT 1, I bought my Deathstar a while back for $2k. But prices overall for Francis have since come down slightly from that point. It would be interesting to see what a Deathstar would go for now, but mine is never leaving the walls. Hands down, the favorite print I own.

Ian Francis Deathstar, value?, by thwaites on Dec 11, 2007 10:28:34 GMT 1, Thanks for your help everyone. Not sure if I really want to part with it but I need to sell something at the moment unfortunately! If there is anyone who really does want it I might consider selling it, but I need to get as much as I can for it right now.
Many thanks!

Ian Francis Deathstar, value?, by ABC on Dec 11, 2007 11:11:40 GMT 1, I think value was 1k, but not now. Prices for all prints have fallen and you would be lucky to get 6-700. Saying that, It's a stunning print and I'm sure the dip is only because of the Christmas pinch.

Ian Francis Deathstar, value?, by solar77 on Dec 11, 2007 15:16:55 GMT 1, I think it would go for about 750 on ebay and would be a bargain at that price. Ian's print prices have only dipped because of the flood of ed. 50 prints on ebay. I don't think Deathstar was affected as much as his other prints.

Ian Francis Deathstar, value?, by Matt-lock on Dec 11, 2007 17:53:09 GMT 1, One thing is for sure. If anybody wants a deathstar and sees it availble they should jump on it because with only 25 out there it won't be long before they're all in the hands of people that absolutely love it and won't want to sell.

Ian Francis Deathstar, value?, by Filipino Box Spring Hog on Dec 11, 2007 17:58:33 GMT 1, A few weeks ago I was offered 2500 for mine - didn't take it - It is also my favorite print and my screen saver to boot! I agree with Matt - if you can get one you will not regret it.

Ian Francis Deathstar, value?, by Chuck D on Dec 11, 2007 18:21:39 GMT 1, Without a doubt Francis' best print ever. With only 25 of these in existence, I would seriously consider selling something else that's a bit more common...if you have something else. Good luck.

I am starting to think that.. I think I might regret it. Thing is I need to raise some cash and I don't want to part with any of my prints!
Thanks everyone!

Ian Francis Deathstar, value?, by shavemysoul on Dec 11, 2007 19:54:10 GMT 1, I'd never let go of mine. It's a fantastic print and with such a small edition size, like others say, it'll become harder and harder to get one.

Ian Francis Deathstar, value?, by Filipino Box Spring Hog on Dec 11, 2007 20:04:44 GMT 1, If I was in your shoes, I'd sell your city girl 150 first as you've got 5 times as many of those floating about and odds are you'll be able to get another one relatively easily down the road, albeit for a higher price than you purchased or sold but those are the breaks.

I know what you mean but nooooooooo, i love her way too dearly! I'm reconsidering selling the Francis...might just sell a Micallef instead. Depends if I get a really good offer, that's the only way I think I would sell it.
I appreciate all of your advice.

Not a good time to sell an IF due to so many flooding the bay recently. I'd hold onto it as it is a cracking print.
