re. Ben Eine - See No Evil Print w.black glitter coming soon, by JD on Nov 1, 2013 23:47:14 GMT 1, This is starting to remind me of the Adam Neate glyclee snobbery, yawn Isnt it all a bit train spotter ? Worrying about the medium instead of the image Diamond dust makes it imo It's not snobbery. There's a big difference in quality. No CMYK process will ever give you the richness of PMS inks. If this print were priced much lower, like half, I wouldn't even bring it up. Can I give you some advice Buy art you like the look of Love the image If you do, then pay the going rate, or don't Put it in a frame Put it on you're wall Stop worrying If it was half price would that change the image then ??

If the entire piece were screen printed, it would change the image quite a bit. As I've already said, ink jet prints lack the depth and richness of a screen print.
The only reason I could see for ink jetting a Ben Eine print would be to give people who can't afford a screen print a chance to own a piece of his work. With these priced comparably to his screen prints, this isn't doing that.
Also, anyone considering one should understand the difference and know what they're getting. Not everyone knows "giclee" is just a fancy (and perhaps deceptive) way of saying ink jet. That would be my advice. But I suppose buy it and put it in a frame without thinking works too.

re. Ben Eine - See No Evil Print w.black glitter coming soon, by morgan on Nov 2, 2013 4:12:25 GMT 1, I love this print and am getting one (because I love the image!) but I do agree 100% on the price on this that, it is in fact, asking too much especially when you look at comparables (tenderloin).
Hell the tenderloin COA is a piece of work alone!
/end ramble

re. Ben Eine - See No Evil Print w.black glitter coming soon, by iamzero on Nov 2, 2013 8:45:35 GMT 1, I think it looks good, and im very very tempted, but im surprised its so closely priced to Tenderloin when that was such an exceptional display of screenprinting!
Agreed dude. I may have be tempted at half that cost especially so close to the by far superior font screenprint.

re. Ben Eine - See No Evil Print w.black glitter coming soon, by iamzero on Nov 2, 2013 9:36:39 GMT 1, The fact that it is a giclee doesn't bother me in the slightest but pricing and timing are a factor for me on this one which is annoying as a huge Eine fan. Although I must admit to wondering the same as others on here why an artist renowned for screen printing is producing giclee as a method... Hope this madness doesn't catch on with Penny too?

re. Ben Eine - See No Evil Print w.black glitter coming soon, by summoner on Nov 3, 2013 16:30:14 GMT 1, Love the image, but I can't help feel like this one was phoned in due to the technique that was used. For a print that is almost 2x the price of Adventure (which was a 12+ screenprint I believe), I would have expected this to be 100% screened for that price. Not to mention of all artists I would not have expected EINE to put out a giclee.
Not trying to be a downer, but I was looking forward to picking this up, and now I just feel let down. If the price was $200-250 I would consider it, but I just can't bring myself to entertain it at the current price.

re. Ben Eine - See No Evil Print w.black glitter coming soon, by Hubble Bubble on Nov 6, 2013 8:59:09 GMT 1, ^^Same old story... they will be stung at 20% plus handling fees. Then they will be able to claim back the 20% VAT, or rather most of it - as the effective rate for import of this type of hand finished, ltd ed print is 5%.
Giclees could be a grey area in practice as they are produced by ink jet technique but the hand finishing and signing should qualify the print for reduced import duties.

ps - the $85 option doesn't show up? Maybe it does when you click through with further info? I just clicked UK and it added $120 to the total

re. Ben Eine - See No Evil Print w.black glitter coming soon, by Deleted on Nov 6, 2013 20:58:30 GMT 1, Maybe if there was a 'bulk' interest from the UK then they would ship them together (or take them) to a centrally located gallery or somewhere that could be trusted and then sell them from there?
I agree that if you're uk based and have to factor in postage, import plus risk of damage in transit etc then.....
