If the entire piece were screen printed, it would change the image quite a bit. As I've already said, ink jet prints lack the depth and richness of a screen print.
The only reason I could see for ink jetting a Ben Eine print would be to give people who can't afford a screen print a chance to own a piece of his work. With these priced comparably to his screen prints, this isn't doing that.
Also, anyone considering one should understand the difference and know what they're getting. Not everyone knows "giclee" is just a fancy (and perhaps deceptive) way of saying ink jet. That would be my advice. But I suppose buy it and put it in a frame without thinking works too.

Even though it's not a screenpring and is does seem expensive, I think I'd regret not getting one in the long run, so looks like il be getting one, just hope it looks good in the flesh!! |

Although I must admit to wondering the same as others on here why an artist renowned for screen printing is producing giclee as a method... Hope this madness doesn't catch on with Penny too?

For a print that is almost 2x the price of Adventure (which was a 12+ screenprint I believe), I would have expected this to be 100% screened for that price. Not to mention of all artists I would not have expected EINE to put out a giclee.
Not trying to be a downer, but I was looking forward to picking this up, and now I just feel let down. If the price was $200-250 I would consider it, but I just can't bring myself to entertain it at the current price.
Love the image, but I can't help feel like this one was phoned in due to the technique that was used. I agree that if you're uk based and have to factor in postage, import plus risk of damage in transit etc then.....
