CEPT π¬π§ Print Release β’ Street Art β’ Art For Sale, by Steal From Work on Feb 5, 2009 17:23:58 GMT 1,
GALAXY RAYS - the new solo show by CEPT
Steal From Work are proud to launch their new permanent space with Galaxy Rays a solo show from London's most fearless and innovative super-villain CEPT...
Inspired by graffiti and hip-hop, both of which he has been producing since the mid-80's, Cept brings to Bristol reassembled forms, fragile technologies and appropriated hybrids to challenge the viewer's inherent understanding of time and value.
Juxtaposing imagery from art history and popular culture Cept builds bridges between formed ideas and ungrounded assumptions of old and new worlds and questions how secure our conscious grounding in reality is.
Galaxy Rays is the latest installment in a continuing adventure into new dimensions of time and place, video loops and audio add overload to the explosive, primitive imagery and installation.
OPENING NIGHT: Friday 20th February - 8pm-10.30pm
SHOW RUNS: Saturday 21st Feb β Friday 13th March
GALLERY OPENING TIMES: Wednesday-Sunday - 12pm-7pm
VENUE: The Long Arm Gallery Old Bridewell Police Station Bridewell Street Bristol, BS1 3PY
Please email if you're interested in any further info or for opening night invites: stealfromwork@gmail.con

We think it fitting to begin as we mean to go on, with a real legend of the British underground art scene, bringing his unique brand of ultra criminality to Bristol.

CEPT π¬π§ Print Release β’ Street Art β’ Art For Sale, by dslug on Feb 6, 2009 16:16:48 GMT 1, It took a while to get done for various reasons but this being my first job done by Gary I have to say he did a great job on the framing. In relation to the print itself I need a bit of time with it before I can truely say what I feel though Cept has a habit of missing parts of his prints with no colour or blank spaces which causes my anal retention to kick in.If you look at this print which is handmade by cept himself there is a spot between the C and E of cept where the blue is seemingly badly pulled and also down the bottom where he signs it.
All in all Im very happy.....now to live with it for a while and see how it grows on me.

Un-even bits and patchy colours are all part of what make screen prints so nice, as well as unique.
If you want a flawless finish, you should by a printed poster
Nice print

This is not my first cept print but its the first I framed,he does it in all his prints but like I said it is my anal retention that causes my reaction to it.Also I have never seen it in any other prints I own but none of them are artist made like this.

Yep it was the last thing I had on my mind when i sent the print to gary but of the options he sent me I felt it worked the best as the gold in the frame picked up the gold in the print.

Hard to reply 'off the bat' however....
I would take into account the decor in said house, and perhaps also styles of other frames then make a decision based on that.
With that in mind i would probably lean towards something contemporary from the Larson-Juhl range.
This is just an opinion and like i mentioned in my first post the execution/workmanship is right up there!
