Went to the EINE opening this evening @ Corey Helford.  Couldn't find a thread for it, but may have missed it.  The space looked good, as everything had been tagged (wanted it to look like an underground train station).  Some of the pieces were glow-in-the-dark (apologies for the photos of those, as didn't turn out well)

the pure font work is as usual very appealing but the rest just looks....well strange

I remember seeing those 'children' pieces at an Urban Angel show, many many years ago, they have not improved in concept or visual appeal with the passing of the years...I was also somewhat disturbed with the addition of glow in the dark colours, a gimmick no less, that should remain filed clearly under children's bedroom poster.

Yup... nice type/letterforms with lots of colour and layers etc Remove the 'Warning' signs, CCTV cameras and kids and I'd think they were all exceptional.

I liked seeing the process shots and really would have liked to have seen unfinished type pieces.

I agree also - his font paintings work, the others a mishmash, too busy, clichéd.

The 'children' pieces remind me of Paula Rego but I don't know if they're supposed to be that disturbing.

Really like the 'nothing to lose'. His finish looks better than ever. Have to say his pure type ones are very nice, the other work does nothing for me at all

Completely agree.  That canvas was my favorite.  Was one of those already sold.
