Devouring Bunny - Ian Francis, by valeha on Nov 4, 2007 17:36:00 GMT 1, I love this print, there is one on ebay at the moment but IMO it's well over the odds:
Item number: 180176662351
what do people think of the price? $3435/ยฃ1650 isn't that well over the odds for a Francis at the moment?
Oh and if anyone has one they would consider letting go for at a reasonable price please pm.
thanx, v

Devouring Bunny - Ian Francis, by Deleted on Nov 4, 2007 17:37:45 GMT 1, ยฃ1650 that does seem like a lot of cash for the print. i would say that maybe ยฃ850 would be about right. but it isnt my cash.

Devouring Bunny - Ian Francis, by Filipino Box Spring Hog on Nov 4, 2007 17:39:50 GMT 1, I'd say it's priced well over what it's worth - maybe around $1600 is the value -
However, it's the first Devouring Bunny I've seen on ebay - maybe it could go for a bit more...
It's definately an awesome print - I'd say make the seller an offer and see where it goes.

yeah, I was thinking around ยฃ700-850 max. Well will keep an eye on it and see if anyone buys it at that price.

Ok think I will do, but I can't get anywhere near the price he/she wants, lets see...fingers crossed.

Devouring Bunny - Ian Francis, by snelj8 on Nov 4, 2007 19:18:44 GMT 1, Are RPG Francis prints lesser quality than the BLK MRKTs? how do they compare? I've got a Red Choppers and it looks excellent, but also have 3 of the 4 new releases coming in -- these will be better in quality?

Devouring Bunny - Ian Francis, by Filipino Box Spring Hog on Nov 4, 2007 19:25:24 GMT 1, The Red Propeller paper is very slightly less quality than the Blk/Mrkt paper is...very slightly. The RP prints are smaller - I only have GINY to compare - but, image wise - the RP prints definately seem to hold their own...
Also, we need to remember the RP prints are limited to 25 - whereas the newest BM prints are in editions of 50 -

Ive got francis prints from red prop, artist prints and blk mrkt, and they are all great quality, personally I prefer the red prop ones but to infer they are of a lower quality than the blk mrkt ones is a bit short sighted, might be worth people qualifing such statments.

good to know! do you think the 50 editions will be any lesser quality than the 25 editions BLK MRKT sent out? is it true the later number prints are lesser quality due to the nature of the printing process -- however i think 25 or 50 editions, all prints will be stunning!

Devouring Bunny - Ian Francis, by scavos on Nov 4, 2007 19:34:25 GMT 1, Interesting to read about the quality of the BM prints. I've got three Denning prints from RP and they are superb quality. The cloth paper is lush. To think the BM prints are more superior is quite something. Wow! On that note, my Beggar in Paris by Blek from BRP is possibly the best quality screenprint print I own.

Edition size and quality aside I much prefer the prints released by BLK/MRKT.

Devouring Bunny - Ian Francis, by Filipino Box Spring Hog on Nov 4, 2007 19:42:36 GMT 1, RP prints are on 310gm cotton rag paper
Blk/Mrkt prints are on Somerset 330gm paper
that's all I meant to say about the RP prints being on paper that is slightly less quality - slightly
then again, I'm certainly not an expert in this area and maybe it doesn't make one bit of difference.

"good to know! do you think the 50 editions will be any lesser quality than the 25 editions BLK MRKT sent out?"
According to someone who already has his (Matt) new prints from blk/mrkt - the ed. of 50 is just as beautiful and on par quality wise as the ed. of 25 from blk/mrkt.

Devouring Bunny - Ian Francis, by bobbymeachamjr on Nov 4, 2007 21:06:35 GMT 1, Image aside, the paper, the inks and just as important - the image size makes the blk mrkt noticeably superior. I can say from first hand non biased observations. For what its worth I have a lot of experience in evaluating print quality - albeit for commercial/corporate purposes...

Devouring Bunny - Ian Francis, by Matt-lock on Nov 4, 2007 23:12:00 GMT 1, Yeah, I have no idea the quality of the RP prints as I don't own any but I have all 4 of the recent BM release and they are simply stunning...same quality as the previous 25 editions from BM. Let's just say anybody who was able to snag these will not be disappointed. Will post some pics tomorrow...

Devouring Bunny - Ian Francis, by nmbr6 on Nov 5, 2007 3:35:08 GMT 1, I own the Devouring Bunny and it is my favorite piece and no picture will ever do it justice. If you like the piece get it at a price you can. Ian's prices are going up and his edition of 25 prints rarely go on sale.

Devouring Bunny - Ian Francis, by Gentle Mental on Nov 5, 2007 4:40:04 GMT 1, The man is getting better with every piece... and he is already very, very, very good.
Next year this time, i suspect ยฃ1650 would be "affordable" for a Ian Francis ed of 25 (especially something as nice as Devouring Bunny)
