I understand sending from US to Uk but do i have to pay tax to send to the US the same or not ?

Only the buyer or receiver has to pay tax. I have sold several large items to the US over the past few years, I have always marked them as gifts (at buyers request), the buyers have never had to pay tax....

If your selling somthing I would ask the buyer what they want to do...

But would marking as a gift affect insuring the item at all ?
Or would it just be an expensive gift

You do need to declare the value for customs...

Unless you are sending somthing to a friend or family member, Declare the full value....If the buyer has to pay TAX so be it...

I would always suggest useing a good courier...FedEx or UPS and use there premium service....

I'll use a good service anyway so should all be fine but would really be at the buyers risk then whether they wanted to pay the tax or not i s'pose but it is quite hefty & no need for it but that's life as you say
