OK, i have decided to put the money from this auction and several other auctions in the near future to good use. As some of you may know, my daughter was recently very very ill, so much so that i honestly thought i was going to lose her. thankfully she is on the mend now, but i was talking to one of the nurses and she says its awful at christmas cos some of the families dont bother to see their kids on christmas morning in the hospital, so when some of the kids are opening their presents and smiling, they are sat in their beds watching them. I had an idea then that i would like to do something, i have spent over a thousand hours on that ward in the last few months and it is the most heartbreaking place on earth.

Anyway, what i thought i would do is get some money together, buy a load of presents and wrap them up, then hire some fat old geezer to dress as santa and go give the presents out on christmas eve night so they all have stuff to open in the morning. I am going to use all of the money from this auction for this, i will sell a few prints over the coming weeks and a few diamonds, make it a good total.

so anyway, i will inform you all through these pages which auctions are going to the cause

what can i say for various reasons i have also had to spend alot of time on hospital wards over the last couple of years. Unfortunately i can say i find them always very depressing places and i would hate to think of a child being in one at xmas!

Folks - I will check with Verbal but I did not mean to land him with the responsibility of covering the logistics and workload of donated pieces (from Artists and Forum Members).

My thoughts were if Silky could co-ordinate the collection of the pieces and then run a blind bid auction for them or something like that.

Silky / Verbal any thoughts??

Great idea! My first print will be out later this week, or early next week. I will donate an artist proof to the cause.

Again if Verbal is happy we could do something like this (all proceeds to Verbals nominated charity).

All pieces of art that are being donated by forum Artists or pieces of art simply being donated by members to be pm to me (Artist, Piece Title, Edition Number etc). No art to be actually passed or posted to anybody at this stage.

Closing date for this part will be 31.10.2007.

I will then list all prints that have been donated along with all relevant details and photos if available. This will be the review period and will last just over one week.

Starting the 12.11.2007 one print will be posted for auction each day. Posted at 8:00am with blind bids accepted by way of pm up until 6:00pm. The winning bidder and price will be revealed at 6:30pm each evening. The process will begin again the following day until all prints have been auctioned.

At the end of the process all winners details will be posted and the prints can then be sent by the person donating the print to the winning bidder. The winner bidder can then send the appropriate funds to a nominated paypal account (Verbal?) for submission to the charity.

This probably needs polished but its a 1st draft.

I am beginning to regret nominating myself as I will not be able to bid on any of these fantastic pieces. If the number of prints/originals gets high enough I may run two auctions per day.

I will also get Silky to help show me how to send alerts on the morning of each auction.
