Nola For Trade (Maybe Sale), by trapnel1 on Jan 5, 2010 10:05:08 GMT 1, £1800 was excluding the premium (22% at Bloomsbury, plus VAT on the premium I think).

Pietro Psaier soupcan for sale, by trapnel1 on Nov 9, 2009 18:40:28 GMT 1, Nice artwork and a fair price, regardless of Psaier's back story, which I have also followed with interest.
The debate reminds me a little of the controversy around EM Washington (now settled - see en.wikipedia.org/wiki/E._M._Washington ). I was given one of his woodcuts about 10 years ago as a present.....

Banksy Book • WALL and PIECE, by trapnel1 on Aug 15, 2009 17:14:51 GMT 1, The first edition of Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone was published in a hardcover edition of only three hundred copies by Bloomsbury in 1997, in laminated boards with no dustwrapper. Went for over 20K in fine condition at peak in auctions, but prices have fallen, though not as much as most art! Can't believe there are too many copies knocking around here!

Banksy Book • WALL and PIECE, by trapnel1 on Aug 15, 2009 15:41:50 GMT 1, Does seem very expensive, but I can't find any first editions on sale from the second hand book sites, so at least now relatively rare. Anyone's guess what the first print run would have been back in 2005, but very unlikely to be in the thousands, and not many of those will be in collector's condition. The hardcover copies on sale in Bristol and online are almost certainly later printings. So a first in fine condition with dustwrapper would be worth more than original price to a book collector interested in art books, but nowhere near £1000. Has anyone bought a first edition of this in the last year or so?

Banksy - Northern Ireland, by trapnel1 on Mar 12, 2009 19:03:22 GMT 1, i have been to Derry and seen the Murals, i have friends there and it can still feel like a very scary place.
Belfast (and Northern Ireland in general) are not any more dangerous than lots of other big cities, despite the violence this week. There are places I wouldn't go alone at night, but the same is true of almost anywhere. Banksy will be very welcome - as are all visitors!
