I have just had the following email back from David.....seems fair enough that they want to track every item ...
''Thanks for your email. I hope that you have been well.
The issue is that the only way to send this in a trackable manner is to ship it at this rate.
We had attempted to send prints, etc. overseas in the past (in a less expensive and non-trackable manner) but had issues with customers that claimed that they never received their goods. While this technically should not have been our issue, we always ended up sending a second item to maintain the best customer service possible. Unfortunately we do not have the time, money, or (extra) catalogues to take on this risk.
We've even found ourselves shipping out multiple 2009 Gallery Catalogues because collectors have not always received them. Since we have a lot of extras on hand and they are much smaller and cost less to ship, it hasn't been as big of a deal. But again, a safe delivery has not always been guaranteed via a less expensive shipping method.
I appreciate all of your support in the past with our limited editions, and I hope that you can understand our position on the shipping. Having the ability to track these is very important.
Please note that we did try to keep the cost of the catalogue/print package to be somewhat reasonable. I think you'll be very pleased with the way that it all came out.
As always, do not hesitate to let me know if you have any other questions.
I can attest to the fact that $40 is (although maybe a tad high) what it costs to send an average book from the US to the UK. Now $20 inside the US is kind of steep, I still think this is a pretty good deal even with the postage factored in.
Can't moan too much at the postage. £77 gets you a cracking book AND a nice little print (same size as Weaving - which was an open edition @ £20) and delivered in time for Christmas (well it bloody better be at £25 a pop.). All in all a good deal.
Daniel Silk: In my opinion, Imbue, Ryca and Mobstr would be artists producing the freshest art in the past couple of years. Who would be your top 3?

Daniel Silk: I have been having a big tidy up in the Banksy forum part of the site over the past few days. I think you will find more threads in the correct places, but still lots more to do.

paulagibbs: From someone who used to build websites, this site is not easy to navigate, and all those flashing ads at the top are annoying and rather low-end looking. I am guessing the only people who are going to visit are artists trying to sell their art.

pgm: hey guys, quick question: I have a For Sale thread posted on June 26. Since then I updated the post with new and sold pieces and commented to bump it. But it is now stuck on page 11 of the Art for Sale thread (and noone sees it). Is "bumping turned off" somehow?
