Banksy NOLA Print on POW, by howlinjack on Nov 22, 2008 13:38:32 GMT 1, Losers! That's what they are. 15 up on ebay - not one has sold yet. What is the point in buying a print and then listing it on ebay before you've even seen it. Losers. I am a genuine art lover and will never help fund these losers! Buy direct from the gallery/artist. It's not even a great print. I don't rate it as much as my Dolk Zooicide which cost me ยฃ90. At ยฃ1,000+ you may as well buy an original from another artist. I think Banksy's work is heading the way Anthony Micallef's has. Once the losers realise there's no money to be made they will move on to the next artist (like Nick Walker). OK rant over. I will return to my art loving and steer well clear of all this. To be fair, moving from Banksy to Walker would be like moving from someone incredibly hot to Vanessa Feltz

Choe Original Release Trade for Neate Supine BAST, by howlinjack on Nov 18, 2008 18:12:05 GMT 1, Did not think I would get quite as much stick as I have other this sale. Noticeable worse on another forum. I am going to give the same explanation as clearly my actions warrant it. One thing I would say that I never buy art to store away for a raining day and its pretty much on my walls or it goes. As its pretty full on my walls if something new arrives generally something has to go. I can be fairly impulsive when I buy a piece and sometimes that does not work. Even when I have only lived with that piece for a relatively short time. Okay thats how I buy art and I have always said my feeling on art is about the visual presence and impact of a piece. How I interact with it, how it interacts with me and my environment when I can actually I feel it, touch it and see it. Its always been about the visual impact for me. No more no less. Over 70% of my collection has not moved from the wall from day I bought it. So I get more right than wrong. On this one I just feel more connection with David's more abstract and edgy pieces. I have another of his originals and I get great pleasure from that. I just have not connected with this piece. As I say I am fairly impulsive. I do not deny its qualities but it just not doing it for me. I do not hate it but I do not love it. I tried re framing it to see if the distraction of the frame that it came with was the problem but this did not work.
you don't have to explain yourself harveyn. what you do with your belongings is entirely up to you.

Ungined Trolleys/Morons ยฃ600 each, by howlinjack on Nov 18, 2008 18:00:52 GMT 1, Sounds like a reasonable deal too. Not easy to get hold of with no gine on as the ungineing process is quite difficult to master. I have a very small collection as I am so fussy but you will not find a single sign of gine on any of my prints. Good luck Mr Medic, these should soon be spanned up. (I'd put one of those winking smilies in if I could get the damn things to work)
what is "gine" ?

Does everything have a price???, by howlinjack on Nov 18, 2008 16:30:45 GMT 1, interesting story about that queens guard that's indoors. if that's the one in MPC. apparently banksy painted rats all over the building as a thank you for some work they did for him. the MD walked in the next day, saw the rats and ordered them all to be painted over. banksy came back and did the soldier after he heard the other stuff had been buffed.

BANKSY *Girl With Balloon* Canvas Ed 25 F/S, by howlinjack on Nov 18, 2008 14:47:54 GMT 1, Loads better than a diptych in my opinion. Absolutely lovely piece. What is the ball park price for this piece? ยฃ30-50k? Also how much did it cost at the Ghetto?
ยฃ300 - ยฃ350 if my drug addled brain remembers rightly

ADAM NEATE - 1,000 Print Give Away, by howlinjack on Nov 16, 2008 14:37:47 GMT 1, Adam Neate said no a long time ago and Dface too. What pisses me off though is they will talk to Sky and the BBC at the drop of a hat. A massive publicity stunt IMO and not for the people at all. Although I still love his work, he personally has gone down in my estimation.
this stunt wont be all down to him. i'm sure he has his advisors.

ADAM NEATE - 1,000 Print Give Away, by howlinjack on Nov 16, 2008 11:55:24 GMT 1, i had a slighty different experience on this to others as i didnt find 'an' adam neate - but i found 'the' adam neate himself with an armful of pictures! i posted a note about the whole thing on another forum and someone posted back to say they had seen him on charing cross road at about 5pm , so i took a little detour on my way home from work on my bike on friday about 6.30pm and i saw him being filmed for TV just behind centre point and luckily for me i used to know him a bit from back in the skateboarding days (but havnt seen him for years) so i went and said hello and he asked if i wanted one and i said 'yes please'.. and got a blue one number 286. then i watched the 6pm edition of London Tonight on ITV on saturday and in the little piece they filmed there i am in my hi-vis vest and bike helmet talking to him ..hehe just want to say adam if you are reading this thanks very much and the pic is going on my wall and not on ebay.. while doing the filming he put down a few pics for the camera and people came and picked them up straight away... i asked if he was suprised or pleased by the massive interest and he said it was a bit weird, and that he wasnt intending to do all the TV stuff in the first place but then got the offer and decided why not... i then had at least an 8 mile cycle home from west end to E17, down main roads, along the canals and through parks and didn't see a single one...although you do start noticing how many bits of random 'stuff' are all over the place in london i reckon there are still loads out there that have either been blown away from where they were put as they are really light, or just not found yet...
good on you vital. nice one.

WALKER LTS Light Box, by howlinjack on Nov 15, 2008 21:31:00 GMT 1, imo i think youre gonna have a hard time lighting the walker as the background is too dark. the black will always cast a heavy reflection and the lights make it worse. the insect has a lighter background and bounces the light from the leds. what about ultra violet light? it wont affect the black as much and will make every bit of colour on that print zing. just a thought...
