Banksy "Very Little Helps" Print, by howlinjack on Dec 19, 2008 19:03:47 GMT 1, Opened mine and it is crap. Horrible. Might have to throw it away. Right, has PUD gone? It looks great!!!! So pleased. Am going to not go out tonight and instead try to work out what frame to get. Floating white box frame methinks....

Top 3 gifts to get a lady...., by howlinjack on Dec 19, 2008 16:29:48 GMT 1, Pella and rigby underwear, fits like a glove except not on the hands if you know what i mean. I accidently brought some for my wife last year she was well made up! Wish i had heard of them before as she claims it's really comfortable, fits properly and looks damn fine when she strutting her stuff around in front of you in it. A gift for two i'd call it.
bra makers to the queen i might add.

Which artist do you have the most works by ?, by howlinjack on Dec 18, 2008 13:31:53 GMT 1, EINE 4 pieces for me all on the walls. EINE Is a legend. I don't own any Eine - yet - but I do have the great photo of his buffed VANDALISM piece that was published in VNA as my desktop background. I think his OGs are stronger than his prints.
the circus print is a piece of screen printing alchemy. the glitter proof versions are even better.

Banksy HMV Print, by howlinjack on Dec 17, 2008 22:23:31 GMT 1, At the end of the day £600 is still a lot of money, so my advice would always to be sure it's legit before parting with the cash. Get the print number of him and e-mail/phone Dora. If he's nothing to hide I don't see a problem.
if he was a crack addict i would understand his urgency but there's still seven days of shopping left.
600 is a lot of money but its not a lot for a HMV even in today's climate.
let the hand of dora decide your fate.

Banksy HMV Print, by howlinjack on Dec 17, 2008 22:08:48 GMT 1, This is why the lack of prov would concern me. How long it's been on his wall is irrelevant. Also if he knows his stuff surely he would also have an idea of the prints true worth? You'd be amazed the number of people who have early Banksy stuff who have literally no idea what they're worth. Not everyone hangs about on the forum & ebay.
very true PA. sadly i'm not surprised by the number of people in this world who are willing to do anything to rip someone off. that madoff fella had people begging him to take their money. very shrewd people too.
best of luck dodge

Banksy HMV Print, by howlinjack on Dec 17, 2008 21:28:26 GMT 1, Managed to haggle him down in price from £800 to £650 too! He is desperate! He must be at that price. That said I am a true believer if something sounds too good to be true, it probably is.
sound advice.

Banksy HMV Print, by howlinjack on Dec 17, 2008 21:08:16 GMT 1, POW is the way to go. If it was me I'd be telling him if it comes back with a clean bill of health he can add the £50 to the price. It'd be worth in the long run, you can't put a price on a piece of mind.
completely agree.

how do you float a print in a frame?, by howlinjack on Dec 17, 2008 20:46:17 GMT 1, japanese hinging is by all accounts the best but i found this self adhesive tape called filmoplast P90. below is an article on how it works and how you can remove it. personally i'd leave float mounting to the pros. i intend to have a crack at it one day but not with anything too special in case i screw up.
www.artfacts.org/artinfo/articals/water_removal_filmoplast.html
anyone else heard of/used any of this? be good to hear a framers perspective.

Banksy signed now the only option..., by howlinjack on Dec 17, 2008 17:52:57 GMT 1, As far as the LA prints are concerned I wasn't aware of any at the show being signed. I thought that there were 100 released from the edition of 500 all unsigned - $500 each. If there were signed prints released at the LA show then that is news to me. Does anyone have any CONCRETE information, rather than speculation or guesswork? There were also some printers proofs floating around I think from an edition of 6. Can't recall whether they were signed or not.
hey pez. there were a few signed sets and they were printer proofs and were stamped with a poodle (the LA printers blind stamp) some of those sets have probably broken up and sold on individually. i remember a guy on the ebay forum lukeandsuzy? who flew over to the LA show with his missus and secured two sets and was promptly banned by laz for selling a set along with a few originals when he returned.

My first signed Banksy (problem: advice needed)., by howlinjack on Dec 17, 2008 10:48:21 GMT 1, hand pulled screen prints always have some minor imperfection its the nature of the beast. nearly every one of mine has something: personally i think it adds character. if you want near perfect then go giclee. (which is a whole new argument!)

What will Nick Walker do after TMA has ended??, by howlinjack on Dec 16, 2008 22:39:37 GMT 1, really? i have seen two different sizes of the triptych so far. a 18x12cm micro canvas version a 20x20cm version both in editions of 20 (there was one other but it was still smaller and again in an edition of 20. i should explain this is a full size triptych bought in early 2006 off his site. this was the only one listed with a price and that was replaced with sold after i bought it and it stayed that way. maybe i should ask him direct. only the horses mouth knows for sure! cheers.
