Thoughts on cleon peterson's market?, by nobokov on May 13, 2021 20:33:41 GMT 1, I would just keep them if you're able to or work your way down from the best auction house to the worst to see who accepts the work. He doesn't really seem to have a strong market and his last couple of shows have been lackluster. The color combinations in those shows were pretty bad imo. I think releasing affordable prints monthly hurts the market for his originals, because if you can get the same image for $150, why would you pay thousands? The work is so flat that, while it looks great on instagram, they're just lacking in person even with the large scale.
I'd imagine that women are turned off by the violent imagery so it might be difficult to find married buyers as well. The work is beautiful though, just doesn't appeal to most people like flowers.

Damien Hirst H9 โข The Virtues, by nobokov on May 11, 2021 20:30:49 GMT 1, Are those posts not making you FOMO like the rest of us? FOMO on a timed released for a week that anyone could have purchased? You mean - again - you told people not buy a good release... which you probably did secretly anyways. Like the Gerhard Richter or Nara - you posted them here. Can you explain to me and everyone here how any one member on UAA can influence a Nara, Richter or Hirst market like you keep saying? I'm still lost on that.... I thought we were cool. You DM last - apologizing and saying we were good. So again - here you go. Again, someone had asked for the link and results and I posted. If anything forget about the hirst results and use the link to find other results on ebay. I'm sure the link will help people. That is the main reason why I posted the results. Thank you to the person above who originally posted the link. The link is very useful. What are you talking about? I didn't tell anyone not to buy this print or the Richter print on the primary. Buying on the secondary market is something else. I regret all of my Heni purchases because they're just expensive overly shiny prints that aren't at all impressive in person. Luckily they're worth something and there some rich idiots out there who don't know how to buy from the source, otherwise, I'd be jumping off the Brooklyn Bridge.
I didn't buy this print, but they look pretty nice nonetheless. I would've preferred this image over the ugly hirst splatters that I have on my wall.
You're just a bit touchy whenever you get a little ribbing. You're here to hype your purchases like the rest of us, but you're just a bit too obvious about it and say you help instead of hype. That's okay. I'm cool with you, but that doesn't mean I won't make fun of you or anyone else here when there's an obvious opportunity.
Do you really like heni prints over any thing else on your wall?

Flipping Art โข The Debate, by nobokov on May 5, 2021 4:55:16 GMT 1, For most members, I don't buy the hatred. I assume that they're just flippers who condemn other sellers to try to deter more competition from entering their marketplace.

Gerhard Richter ๐ฉ๐ช Abstract โข Contemporary Art โข New Relea, by nobokov on May 4, 2021 15:32:32 GMT 1, I just printed one of my favorite Richter images on nice paper and jammed it in an Ikea frame. Very happy with the result. now iโm thinking i shouldโve spend more than 35$ on a frame ๐ฉ i just couldnโt side with framing a 250$ poster for 250$, itโs like a dick punch lol, is that just me? iโm def not cheap by any means, but i canโt do it.... ๐คท๐ปโโ๏ธ Yeah I don't see the point of paying a framer to frame a poster either. Are we really trying to conserve a flimsy reproduction for 100 years?
And I don't get derivitive's point. A professional framer should be equipped to handle customers with any budget range without being insulted. If anything they should be insulted being asked to use conservation materials to frame worthless stuff.
Framing is pretty easy to do yourself in general and you can get all the supplies on amazon. Here's a couple links that might help if you feel like framing to conservation standards

Adam Pendleton ๐บ๐ธ New Print Release โข Exhibition News, by nobokov on Apr 28, 2021 3:19:03 GMT 1, Can anyone explain Black Dada? As simplified of an explanation as Iโve seen but he does get rather expansive in other interviews. Worth digging and reading up on. So what is Black Dada, in a nutshell? The variety of sources within the Reader, the artist explains, are about โradical juxtapositions,โ i.e. bringing voices together in a way that disrupts easy logic and established history. And yet his juxtapositions do have a point. In this case, Pendleton is drawing connections between classic European Dadaist texts, which were responding to the violence and trauma of World War I, and the writings of figures like Black Arts Movement leader LeRoi Jones (Amiri Baraka), responding to the violence of racism in the 1960s. Relating these art historical threads creates an avenue for considering the experiences of shock and displacement in both anew, opening up new potential associations. Thanks. It all sounds nice and intellectual, but I dont think I understand. I'll have to dig more into it.

Gerhard Richter ๐ฉ๐ช Abstract โข Contemporary Art โข New Relea, by nobokov on Apr 26, 2021 15:52:33 GMT 1, Hey UAA Dropping in here to say that if anyone is interested in selling their Richter artworks (recent Cage works or other), drop us a PM, Email or WhatsApp message to discuss what we can offer via our private sales. Have a great week and be safe. New Art Editions Hi New Art, Can you clarify what you mean when you say 'be safe'? I've seen it a few times now and I find it an unusual way for someone to sign off. Thanks. It means wear a condom.

Gerhard Richter ๐ฉ๐ช Abstract โข Contemporary Art โข New Relea, by nobokov on Apr 22, 2021 23:27:53 GMT 1, These images stopped me pulling the trigger. Iโd have been really disappointed with the quality; so thanks I can see why one might think that. But hold on. These were made with Richterโs oversight, and his modus operandi as an artist often involves distorting the original image/photo slightly... I donโt know if this is unintentional, bad quality printing. Iโd be inclined to give Richter the benefit of the doubt that itโs meant to look like this.
I think Richter just forgot to tell someone to refill the ink cartridges.

Artists that Sell Out Instantly, by nobokov on Apr 13, 2021 15:43:30 GMT 1, Half the sales are pulled or pre sold anyways on most releases these days. Itโs hard to tell what is really โsold outโ properly. I mean having Pre sales for a month + is kind of cheating as well. I know many artists and galleries who hold prints from releases for themselves and other resellers. Itโs part of โcreatingโ a market..
And more than half the releases are bought to flip so we never know what the true demand for the artist is. Who knows how many unsold prints are just sitting in seller's flatfiles and tubes. It all just seems like a huge pyramid scheme, each person looking for another richer fool to sell off to.

Artists that Sell Out Instantly, by nobokov on Apr 13, 2021 15:36:00 GMT 1, It's expected though given that the majority of members buy and sell art religiously. This forum is mainly used as a vehicle for hyping up purchases with multiple accounts, posting fake "Looking to buy.." posts. If you want to discuss art, it's probably best to befriend the artists themselves rather than the "collectors." I've got the buying part down, but I have the collector's gene and have a hard time selling anything.

Artists that Sell Out Instantly, by nobokov on Apr 13, 2021 15:25:35 GMT 1, ecudat agreed, art is certainly about taste, and I personally love abstract art, especially that which is born from graffiti. My point was simply that this board more and more feels like a reddit board dedicated to art investment as opposed to an art forum where people are introduced to and discuss artists and movements, as opposed to value.

Gerhard Richter ๐ฉ๐ช Abstract โข Contemporary Art โข New Relea, by nobokov on Apr 11, 2021 16:20:38 GMT 1, I added some crap pictures on Instagram. Sorry about the crappy pictures, but they are still a bit rolled. The more I look, the more I like (except Abendstimmung, where the printing technique works a bit less well to me) even if they need a glass. http://instagr.am/p/CNh4rYulquK From the pictures, they kind of look like the quality of risoprints. But what can you expect from a poster.

Visit SEOUL ๐ฐ๐ท Korea Street Art, Galleries, Events, by nobokov on Apr 11, 2021 15:56:14 GMT 1, Hi guys, Jean Jullien has a sold out exhibition now at Korea. He will have soon another small exhibition at gallery Target at Japan. This gallery is famous for representing names has Rokkaku, Kyne, Yusuke Hanai and allows sold out the exhibitions before opening. The prices will raise for sure. The last year references for Jean Jullien were canvas from 70x50 cm where from 8-10k. If you can buy something below this prices donโt think twice. Best
His paintings don't include the thing that he's known for: humor. And he's not a good enough painter to do well on images of hikers and surfers.
