Banksy - Unusual and Rare or something else spectacular!, by dotdot on Jul 7, 2015 19:05:14 GMT 1, The coa , interesting , all looks ...like it's worth investigating , mind you for some reason the seller is not publishing any of the 20 or so questions they have been asked so far.. Which in itself tbf is not ideal ... From the sellers angle...(nothing to hide.. Ok publish them... )
Currently hanging at 2.5k ... A day to go.
I'd guess it run to >3 ... And perhaps the rest.... But the lack of questions ... Does not instil my conf.. ( I'm skint and out btw)

Banksy โข Gangsta Rat Print, by dotdot on Jul 3, 2015 18:08:40 GMT 1, No idea why people are creaming their pants over this. The image doesn't even come close to a Napalm or a CWS. I'm sure if you posted in the 'art wanted' section you'd find plenty of these in the same condition.
oy get back back in your box... you don't normally speak this much in one year ...
otherwise .. GR is thought by some as B's finest R@ - fair enough ... no ?
certainly not as in yow faece .. as CWSB or Nap.. or QV.. i'd agree.. but then the demand/market for those is smaller as a result..

Flipping Art โข The Debate, by dotdot on Jul 2, 2015 19:10:04 GMT 1, flippers have their place (somewhere over that rainbow) ...generally they have no idea of the life of a work or it's value perhaps longer term it's a short term flip for them... they make something rather than a fart-zed.
I remember buying a colour trolley from one.... for ยฃ1500...

DFace โ โWasted Youthโ @ CAC Malaga, by dotdot on Jun 30, 2015 10:34:09 GMT 1, It just seems like he's done a retrospective of his work like any other museum show but instead of gathering all of the work he remade it and slapped a huge price tag on them. In regards to his older work surely its not the volume that's already out there but the fact that he is reusing the images? I understand he has moved on to Lichtensteinesque work so would have been hard to show progression maybe they shouldn't have been included? It just strikes of being very avaricious to me.
i think you'll find he has been doing this type / kind / vein of work for a considerable time.
as for the pricing ? well ... canvas works have been quite high since 2008.
I'm sure there is irony in a lot of what he has done and what people think he has done, which lends itself to ... humour - rather than avarice... given he owns/runs SS.

Artist Maya Hayuk claims Starbucks knocked off her art, by dotdot on Jun 27, 2015 17:30:07 GMT 1, No one is defending Starbucks you twits. My point is obvious. I am saying her work is equally similar to other artists, as Starbucks design is to hers. Hence the irony of her suing someone for stealing her artwork. Period. Your point is idiotic, your equating Starbucks with the history of art. Starbucks asked her if she was interested, no doubt along the lines of "the money is minimal but the exposure will be good for you". She said no, they used an in-house designer to rip her off. Instead of rolling over, she sued the f**kers (not someone) Good for her.
You're either with her or against her , stand up you starbuckers....
Me , I'll have a cup of char... Feck that coffee sh1t ....
Meanwhile her case is pretty clear... The finished work is a derivative knocked up in house .. With the term ...
...give us something like this...it doesn't take much to get email records.. In this day and age it's a pretty clear case... For .. Those who think she'll lose....

Artist Maya Hayuk claims Starbucks knocked off her art, by dotdot on Jun 27, 2015 12:45:01 GMT 1, Funny to see supposed fans of an artform with its roots in activism siding with a f**king corporation like Starbucks. Laughable.
It's a wide variety of things... not least sad.
If folks here are ... not ... Hyping up an artist then saying ptm and said artist's prices are too high .. It's some law suit... In the us ...
She is an artist who has an attitude ( show me an artist without one) , anything wrong with an attitude ? You want her to roll over and accept something which is at best questionable and at worst.. Blatant plagiarism ... In any line of work it is not generally tolerated... Here ? well street artists they just roll over..
Do we actually have people here defending Starbucks ? Class ...

Jeffrey Deitch Will Bring Street-Art Show to Coney Island, by dotdot on Jun 14, 2015 19:50:11 GMT 1,
it was an interesting piece - but - and this is crucial, it was a tad overblown and one-sided.
just a little input from others would have balanced his argument.
Otherwise i'd guess those who took part knew what they were getting into - fair enough their call , right ?
jd is still the golden boy in nyc having gone the west of the country and tried... failure doesn't count for anything in the us - it's character building , right ?
alas brick lane in the smoke doesn't quite equate to coney... or does it ? I'd reckon the food on bl is .. rare i say it better

heavy duty postal tubes, by dotdot on Jun 8, 2015 11:36:34 GMT 1, Can anyone recommend where I can get hold of goodย heavy duty postal tubes in the uk. Thanks P Try here: www.defendapack.com/Postal_Tubes_Cardboard_Poster_mailing_tubesBut for high value art you can't beat cutting down a length of plastic (or is it PVC? I don't know) from a hardware store like B&Q. You have to fashion your own end caps though.
or a plumbing tube.
I've had a couple sent to me in the past few years.
With custom made ends.

MacBooks ...... Talk to me ?, by dotdot on May 14, 2015 22:48:24 GMT 1, What spec do you have to do 4k edit without too much hanging around ? Ssd,16gb,i7...? Mbp ? All of the 4k is being cut on the Pro tower with the specs you mentioned accept I have 32gb of ram and even then I need to cut using camera raw because for some reason the mac (or maybe avid) is getting along with ProRes4444. Will probably upgrade to 64gb of RAM soon. With my Mbp I have yet to be brave enough to try cutting 4k, I've been transcoding everything down to H264 to cut. But with the specs you mentioned I have yet to have edit issues, BUT Yosemite with will change my profile settings for literally no reason... It is incredibly frustrating to try and transfer 3TB worth of footage and have absolutely no idea how long it will take (and that is just one of many issues Yosemite has given me).
Thanks for info , I have a 4k cam on my phone .. with a 3axis gimbal , the footage is fantastic... Editing is another matter..
