Stik โข Liberty Print, by Elvis to Pete on Jan 2, 2017 22:04:45 GMT 1, thanks woof and augustg. If you are happy to buy but do not want the frame which also makes it cheaper/safer to ship should the seller be happy to un-frame it? I'd probably ask the buyer to pay for the cost of deframing, but if they weren't expecting a discount to not take the frame, I'd be OK with it. this is the thing I guess.....when negotiating the frame is by the by and is presumed part of the deal wether you want it or not? I never see sales threads saying ยฃ500 for the print and ยฃ100 for the frame and btw way you have to take it framed?!
Un-framing cost seems ok.....I have had that done before around ยฃ20. Cheaper that what it would cost to package it up and send by courier?

Stik โข Liberty Print, by Elvis to Pete on Jan 2, 2017 21:17:59 GMT 1, This is a friendly question to everyone looking at this thread - Is it OK to ask for an item to be unframed? I have ask for this a few times on framed items and it never seems to go down well with sellers? Some sellers will do it, others will not. A lot of the time, it has to do with the size of the frame. Personally, I don't like deframing things that are odd shapes (like a stik liberty) because the frame goes to waste whereas a 30 in x 30 in frame can be reused for something else. That said, I make sure all my framing is conservation from reputable framers, so I don't worry about condition issues. At the end of the day, if you're concerned about condition, don't buy a framed piece IMO. thanks woof and augustg.

I have ask for this a few times on framed items and it never seems to go down well with sellers? As a buyer is is 100% appropriate to ask whatever questions you would like to ask in order feel comfortable with what you will be paying for. A lot of works change hands multiple times (often still in the frame) and at times the seller may have no actual idea of the condition beyond what he was told at purchase. If the seller becomes offended or agitated by a request to validate the condition of the work I would personally walk away from the deal. thanks woof and augustg.

Stik โข Liberty Print, by Elvis to Pete on Jan 2, 2017 20:48:17 GMT 1, will you take ยฃ6k unframed? Do you have a sqaurity coa? Didn't the ones sold at the show only come with DG's COA? Yes....that is a piece of photocopied A4 paper with gallery signature on it. Not sure if they ever really came with them and gallery sent them out on request (please correct me if i am wrong) But some have acquired new coa's from the publisher/printer squarity.

RYCA ๐ฌ๐ง Ryan Callanan โข Star Wars โข Smiley โข New Release , by Elvis to Pete on Oct 3, 2016 16:31:57 GMT 1, Opening night was a great evening as per usual with a RYCA and great to see how far he has come over 10 years. His sculptural abstracts are amazing to see....the finish on them is exceptional. So good to see an artist out of his comfort zone using new materials and moving forward with new ideas. This is one artist that does not stagnate, RYCA's depth of knowledge in the pop art scene really comes through with this collection (chatting with him also helps). I own a few of his 3d smileys and art toy's, all of which are at the show but I am sold on the new abstracts and WILL be buying one. Must see show!!

RYCA ๐ฌ๐ง Ryan Callanan โข Star Wars โข Smiley โข New Release , by Elvis to Pete on Jul 13, 2016 16:58:27 GMT 1, Nice print just as good as the last and with a different message. Maybe a good opportunity if you missed out on the last one.
RYCA does some amazing original unique pieces and is very well respected by other artist for his ideas, artistry, creativeness and engineering skills. I'm sure he does not expect everyone to like his work but if you look into his body of work and the different forms of art he produces then I think anyone would be very impressed with his talent whether or not you like his work.
RYCA is a very successful artist but his work is not deemed as flippable and so would suggest this could be one of the reasons forum members do not post much about his work?!
Prints, Sculptures, 3d lyrics and Art toys all made in house by RYCA
Being a creative and wanting to make a living from it is very tough, so anyone that manages to do it I have much respect for. Luckily for most artist they do not know about this forum and that is a good thing as I presume most would quit!

Share the STIK love!, by Elvis to Pete on Jun 23, 2016 12:08:16 GMT 1, So no one wants to talk about the turd at Bonham's yesterday? Price hypers don't like auction results that suggest crazy prices aren't real....best not to talk about it. That probably very true....but it sold and at a good price. I'm sure the other auction prices had a little influence from people that had vested interest in the result and by that I mean "wealthy traders" not artists or supposed PR/Managent.
Lots of pieces go to auction and get record prices and low prices....so just as if you were buying something on this forum and the seller wants ยฃ8k and you think it worth ยฃ5k....meet in the middle and you have the actual price.

Stik โข Hip Poster โข Japan Big Issue, by Elvis to Pete on Jun 18, 2016 18:12:53 GMT 1, I'm not a believer in post being removed from public forums but I get it.
If you are an artist then I think the last thing you should be doing is trying to degrade another artist work and success however you may think they have achieved it. For an artist to make a living out of being creative it takes a lot of time, effort and lots of knock backs to get to a point where you can support yourself.

Stik โข Hip Poster โข Japan Big Issue, by Elvis to Pete on Jun 18, 2016 17:17:10 GMT 1, can you put me in contact with Stik's management please? stop bullshitting and focus your energy on your art. Sorry I meant PR team. "London Art Spot: Stik Interview (Part 1)
Stik strolled into the trendy Pitfield cafe down the street from his studio to meet me yesterday afternoon in his very paint-splattered clothes, but no mysterious hat or sunglasses covering his face. We ordered Earl Grey tea (his with soya) and he asked for a powdered croissant. I waited while he chatted with his PR team"

You're right, i'm inspired. I'm working on stick figure versions of the Star Wars caracters. Think i'll start with Han Solo. Less realistic than yours of course. Maybe he was having tea with his friends but that was not "artsy" enough for the interview so they made something up to sound more interesting to the reader.....not un-heard of in the press!!
Personally I would not believe what you see on a webpage! That looks more like a statement to fool its clients that they are more involved with the artist and his output than it actually is. Impressive for its clients does little for the artist and his stock value. Plenty of galleries deal in Banksy prints but they have never met him, dealt with him or inspired him....but looks good on your webpage!

Stik Sleeping Baby, by Elvis to Pete on Jun 14, 2016 14:46:34 GMT 1, Don't bid on this guys, it's a fake! www.ebay.co.uk/itm/112024369544 I got fooled by this around March and passed the sellers contact details to Stik, but it seems he has a new account. Seller claims he bought it from a nurse the day after the release but the gap between the baby and the base of the print is too large. When I confronted the seller in March he refunded me instantly! I still have the fake and it's identical to this one listed The seller of this fake print bought it in good faith weeks after the release at Homerton Hospital, believing they bought it from one of the nurses. They put it up on Ebay recently and was emailed by an Ebayer informing them it could be a fake as they had done the same thing. They got it checked out and it turned out it was. They have since taken it down and kindly sent the print to Stik.
