Faile/FairQ Update, by robstar on Jun 30, 2008 13:59:13 GMT 1, Yes I think I could *just* afford one of the smaller prints in this FairQ but it's gonna be a push. I really like the poster anyway so gonna try that too!

Faile/FairQ Update, by robstar on Jun 30, 2008 13:52:17 GMT 1, Oh wow loads are up now on the Faile site, man they're all quality! Really good prints! Well done to Faile!
Can anyone tell me, if I reserve one of these on FairQ and then win, but no longer want to buy it, what happens?

FAILE, by robstar on Jun 28, 2008 2:34:23 GMT 1, whats the meaning of the Tate piece?
I think the meaning of the Tate piece is a buffed up Red Indian dude is grabbing an axe to slash through the Coca Cola logo and modern society!!!! Hahaha... not sure what I make of it, but I do love Faile and Aiko so will try my best to win something!

POW Vhils print photos, by robstar on Jun 27, 2008 13:29:39 GMT 1, Oh wow yeah that sounds nice, adds a bit of character, makes it more unique I guess! I just think Vhils is a real artist in the way Banksy is. It's exciting to have a print by him!

Flipping art from galleries question, by robstar on Jun 26, 2008 19:14:48 GMT 1, I think if it's a unique work then yes a gallery would be annoyed if you sold it or flipped it quickly after you bought it, and yes they probably wouldn't sell to you again. But when it comes to editions, I don't think they care on any level unless it's a rare low edition like a contemporary art photograph out of 5, which again is seen as/given the same seriousness as a unique work. But I can't see why POW or Counter or any editions company would care if you resold a poster because they've already made 100,000k from it!!! Or millions in Damien Hirst's case! And editions are meant to be out there for the general public, that's why they make so many...

POW Vhils print photos, by robstar on Jun 26, 2008 19:10:45 GMT 1, Oh my god. Mine arrived this morning. And OH MY GOD. IT'S MIND BLOWING. I was speechless when I opened, not only is it a really nice size, not too huge just perfect, but it's just classic. It's AMAZING.
I think POW may have discovered their new star. There is nothing gimmicky about it, it's really moving. I can't get my head around why it's had this effect on me, but seriously it's legendary. I never thought I'd find someone who made me feel the way early Banksy and Faile did in 1999 but Vhils has done it.
So refreshing, and so much better than the jpegs. THANK YOU POW for discovering him!

Vhils Vhils Where are you!, by robstar on Jun 22, 2008 12:10:48 GMT 1, I like Darbyshire, I think their frames are amazing, but I guess they're not cheapest.
I'm keeping my print, I think this Vhils print is the most interesting since Banksy if I'm honest. The new technique Bleaching the print seems really interesting and I think it's going to look amazing in person. I can't wait for it to arrive. The bigger POW image DEFINITELY looks wicked!
x

VHILS @ POW, by robstar on Jun 20, 2008 11:18:43 GMT 1, By the way, isn't it impressive that none are on Ebay yet??? I think maybe some people are intruiged by the bleach method, because it's quite unusual? Odd though, that's for sure. Surely out of 100 there must be at least a few evil flippers? Also sorry to hear that some people don't get the emails, that's not fair really is it?

Tracey Emin and David Shrigley, by robstar on Jun 19, 2008 16:18:19 GMT 1, Oh yeah I meant the unique print, from Parkett, taken from a poloroid of herself. I like that one. The others are great but I'm not so into those... I like the Frida one. I used to have lot of them actually but sold them to get a unique work instead.

VHILS @ POW, by robstar on Jun 19, 2008 12:42:17 GMT 1, Good luck guys.
I think it's definitely going to be worth the £275 as it was the same with the Aiko prints last week, which when they arrived looked even more amazing, because they're all so different from each other, individualised!

VHILS @ POW, by robstar on Jun 19, 2008 12:33:19 GMT 1, Yeah but to be honest I don't think it's that expensive as it's hand finished, and it must be interesting the way he's made it with bleach. It's not like any other graffiti artist, his style is unique. I'm sure he's going to end up doing even better than these prices in the future, so I just wanted to get one now while I can still afford him!
