D*FACE Artwork, VALUATION, by honestcrooks on Aug 2, 2016 20:06:20 GMT 1, Congrats on the pickups Loftenhausen! Framing on the No Joke is great!! Love the extra black border, kudos! Both stunners and indeed not the easiest of prints to get these days.
Value of the Riot Silver edition of 13, sadly won't be much more than retail (as they were already pretty high priced if I remember well) I think that the Misfit Bend Embrace sold on eBay for barely 100gbp more than what it costed at the opening night. However, if someone's looking for this one, it's still a great print in a very very low edition of only 13 that sold out on location. Difficult market, but with the right buyer, everything is possible! :-)

New collab Martin Whatson / Sandra Chevrier print, by honestcrooks on Aug 1, 2016 22:00:35 GMT 1, how did you get a MW tagged background like that!? is there a framer that can do that or is that custom from MW? I've seen MW occasionally sell the tagged spacers. I looked up larger pictures of Whatson's artwork and enhanced some of the tags in photoshop, put them all together and voila :-) The dpi (resolution/quality) should be enough to make it through a digital print at the local printshop.

New collab Martin Whatson / Sandra Chevrier print, by honestcrooks on Aug 1, 2016 21:58:41 GMT 1, Whoa Thanks for all the replies guys! Really appreciate all your opinions! Well, I have to agree that it might be a bit heavy and distracting from the print. And also true, that this framing reduces the contrast between B&W/colour which indeed, is the point with this piece
I've had a previous Chevrier framed up this way and it came out pretty good, but it in fact isn't the same effect as it is with the Whatson x Chevrier, that's true.
So... If someone has his already framed up, I'm pretty eager to see the result!
Thanks again for the tips & hints, really appreciate it!

New collab Martin Whatson / Sandra Chevrier print, by honestcrooks on Aug 1, 2016 20:24:53 GMT 1, I haven't seen any of these framed up, so I thought I'd share my idea on how I'm gonna frame mine. Floating, on top of a background of Whatson's tags in a white frame. And below a quick photoshop mockup of how it will look like (or at least I hope it will)
If someone has any better ideas, feel free to shoot some this way!

Parra Print, Canvas, WANTED, by honestcrooks on Jul 27, 2016 7:56:33 GMT 1, Sold out! (but the AP were available for quite some time in their shop tbh)
I am lucky enough to own one and it looks amazing in the flesh. Very large format, when framed even more impressive. Now the classic question: "Where to hang?"

D*FACE Artwork, VALUATION, by honestcrooks on Jul 26, 2016 19:25:15 GMT 1, Was thinking of picking up a yellow Poptart. What's are they going for these days? I saw one that was a collage that had a burned dollar bill around it. Is that a one off or is there more than one of those?
I recall following one on eBay a few months ago, which didn't sell for ยฃ1.3k, relisted 2 times at ยฃ1k and at last sold with 1 bid for ยฃ1k. Strange that they have skyrocketed in so little time. For around ยฃ1.8k you should be able to find them at those so called "galleries" though... (read: people who flip stuff and have discovered Tictail or BigCartel)

JASON ZENGA/DARKCITY SCAMMER, by honestcrooks on Jul 26, 2016 19:21:38 GMT 1, I've read about this guy over different forums. It's unbelievable that he is still pulling these tricks after all these years... You would think that streetjustice would've happened by now, no?
Great that you are going after him. Kudos!

D*FACE Artwork, VALUATION, by honestcrooks on Jul 25, 2016 19:45:54 GMT 1, A Unamerican Graffiti for 425?! Damn, that's an amazing price!! I can only wish to find one at that price :-D No no it was a 'no joke' print. Sorry lost in translation there!
Ohhhh! No problem! Damn :-D You almost got me there! Yeah, I payed that for my No Joke some time ago too. It seems they're pretty steady, but still one of his best images from the "Lichtenstein" direction.

Thank you so much! Appreciate it :-) It was my 2nd dFace I ever bought but it was on my wishlist for long. So I guessed it deserved something special :-)

New collab Martin Whatson / Sandra Chevrier print, by honestcrooks on Jul 8, 2016 16:18:09 GMT 1, I had no luck on the UK site so had no option! I also bought an OG Sandra Chevrier from COA a few weeks ago so hoping they combine postage. No reply yet on it though Be sure to show the OG when it arrives! And fingers crossed the prints arrives fast, in good condition, without extra customs and together with your OG

New collab Martin Whatson / Sandra Chevrier print, by honestcrooks on Jul 8, 2016 13:37:40 GMT 1, Ta. I'm in Scotland but bought mine from COA. I'm away for a week so just a bit worried that it will be kicked about the couriers floor for a week if it's delivered soon:( Emailed COA 3 times but no response... If I may ask, is there a particular reason you have ordered on COA? There's a chance it's gonna take a bit longer and you'd have to pay import duties (Damn you customs!) Anyhow, it's worth the wait, stay strong

Kaws BFF, by honestcrooks on Jul 8, 2016 9:56:45 GMT 1, Yes, I also noticed the high "Colette" price, much higher than the original price of $HK15000 (~175โฌ). It's a good business for them, not sure how many they had for sale. It seems they had a part in-store and a part online. Also, it was a pre-order for the online orders, so I guess they don't even have the online orders yet. Prepare to get a whole lot of refunds (like always when buying upon release on colette.fr )

Kaws BFF, by honestcrooks on Jul 7, 2016 13:07:28 GMT 1, They got sold by Colette yesterday in-store and online. I was at work when they released and some colleagues and I thought it be fun to try our luck. We went online, each of us had one in our cart and we were ready to pay, until we all noticed the price: 400โฌ for a plush! We had a good laugh, closed our computers and went for a pizza. If was fun though... I understand that it's all about marketvalue and stuff, but let's be honest, with Kaws slapping his name on everything wit a bit of value, it starts to get ridiculous (imo at least) He has nice imagery, but it has to stop somewhere... No? :-)

It seems that yesterday the first half went out and the rest will follow today and tomorrow. Can't wait to see it in the flesh!

New collab Martin Whatson / Sandra Chevrier print, by honestcrooks on Jul 2, 2016 19:13:52 GMT 1, Ofcourse the secondary market defines a large part of the worth of an artists work, but I think it's a nice signal of Graffitiprints to send out to the so called "instagram galleries" and frequent flippers. I think with this move, the don't damage the customer-gallery relation, but on the contrary, they improve it by respecting the "real" collector who missed out on the release due to these resellers and giving them a new attempt with a extra chance of getting them. Flippers will flip nonetheless, even if this time they get caught and end up without print. The profit is strong with this one. :-)
Also, but that's a personal remark, I don't know if the value rises that much, if after a release, dozens of prints get up on eBay and don't sell for ages (just look at the Jordan x Supreme camo sneakers. Different market, same game)

New collab Martin Whatson / Sandra Chevrier print, by honestcrooks on Jun 30, 2016 17:23:14 GMT 1, Very happy to get this one. Loved it at first sight when they were only experimenting with that one-off a year ago or so. Hope I don't get a mail in an hour that they had to refund some buyers because of overselling. Also, the size on that thing! Can't wait to see how it will be framed.
Congrats to everybody who scored one.
