No Banksy in 2011 - what's the message?, by daveart on Dec 12, 2011 16:49:48 GMT 1, Give or take a few days its been a year since there was a new Banksy print. So what is the point of that and who is trying to make it?
- Is Banksy trying to cool off the crowd a bit and hoping we shift attention to other projects he is working on - animation/oscars/developing other artists/ big shows.
-Is it POW punishing people in a way for the melee last year and the related back lash to it . ie. you dont like our print release.. fine .. we won't do another for a good long time..
-They had a year to get something ready.. hard to say 'see us in March' as if its like just something they will get around to when they have the time.
Not that i ever get to buy any Banksy releases .. but it seems odd and the message I get from it is - move along - Bansky doesnt want people fussing over his prints anymore. (maybe morons should be taken a bit more literally..)

No Banksy in 2011 - what's the message?, by They call me Stephen on Dec 12, 2011 17:13:12 GMT 1, I think you're reading too much into it. The petrol bomb poster release was this year and there's a new print in the pipeline for March

No Banksy in 2011 - what's the message?, by Sally on Dec 12, 2011 17:53:02 GMT 1, Poor Banksy, it seems to me that he has received a lot of criticism this year and I imagine he must feel a little bit like this...

No Banksy in 2011 - what's the message?, by Zippy on Dec 12, 2011 18:08:10 GMT 1, I doubt he gives a s**t. He has given us the chance to buy his prints for years.
After the mess of last year I guess pow wanted to let the other artists get noticed and by stating the new print is in march it has taken the pressure off of Xmas queue, rumours and panic.
Banksy can then get his arse down to Brent x for a bit of chrissy pressie buying. I heard that mrs b is getting him some new moccasin slippers this year.

No Banksy in 2011 - what's the message?, by connecta1 on Dec 12, 2011 19:09:30 GMT 1, ...absolutely think its a direct result of last years fiasco
I'm sure he doesn't want or need to be associated with meathead professional flipping gangs, fights in queues and bile-filled messageboard vitriol for months afterwards
I think (hope!) that a non-regular release schedule, alternative release methods and perhaps some huge/open-edition-type changes are on the cards
