sweet baby jesus and the orphans - I totally love the new stuff, and I like the little elements of "classic" faile coming through here and there. It was about time they moved on a bit and for me this is the nuts, ditto wish I was going and would still love a book cover!

WOW! Excellent direction with the new work. I am very excited about these pieces. Sad they are not in my budget! By far my favorite! Vaidade

If the price is what they say I think it will probably be a large unsigned edition online which is exactly what I want. I'm excited.

FAILE IS BUGS!
I'm kidding.
But off all the silhouettes with stuff/collage/photo/doodle inside these give the weirdest vibes.
like creepy picassos...
the shapes are too strong, not sure this can last a few campaigns, i suspect it's a one-off phase thing.
But i like them. they are beautiful.

I know artists can't stand still, and must move to grow, but at first glance these works feel derivative. failesites.net/fragments-of-faile#1I'm sure there's good reason that the majority feel these guys are great (50,000 Fall Fans Can't Be Wrong and all that), but i still don't, and fail (excuse the pun) to find much that is truely original about them. (Mimmo Rotella every time, perhaps until now) I know from time to time I can be found bad mouthing artists, but this is only to play devils advocate, and usually in the interests of true quality and genius, and only as a war on any degree of mediocrity. Preservation of the movement if you will. Imagine I’m employed by silky to generate chat if you will To me it feels like they are trying to move through the ranks, and are now on the tails of Richard Prince, Twombly, and co. trying to climb up into the safe havens of contemporary art. If they are not careful though, like many artists they may just find themselves trudging through the tracks already laid down by their more original predecessors, and not really laying any of their own in the process. Yes on the surface these are good, but they are not great, nor original, nor daring. I can’t help thinking they’ve racked their brains for a new direction. They seem to have adopted more of Bast’s influence, albeit in a more painterly manner, and are now perhaps more than ever in awe of him, and forever indebted to him, as backed up most recently by their declaration of praise for him in today’s Guardian interview. I just see a monster trying to stay afloat, and trying to maintain it’s rank, but like I say 50,000 Fall Fans Can't Be Wrong and all that, or is that Faile fans. Maybe I’m the one waiting to be converted. I just want to find something of any substance in their work. No offence and all that. And please, I welcome people telling me constructively if and why I’m wrong. Sell it to me….

Nice though it is, I'm not into this new direction. Where's the humour gone? Where's the Faile gone? If someone had posted these last week and said 'guess who?', I doubt 5% would've said Faile.

I really like this fresh approach. It will inherently have an association of risk as it’s ‘new/different’ but it has some elements of faile albeit re-packaged! Book covers fragment 09 & 10 are cool - maybe one day!

If anyone is going and wants to pick one up for me I'm good for the dough - get me both (signed) and I'll give you enough to cover your own (prints not an OG) Cheers

open edition?? then surely these are not screenprints?? And if they are screenprints surely they are a timed release or something similar to the Moniker prints which were "open editions"?

i am having trouble understanding this change, its not like a slow and progressive move but more of a hey we have had enough of everything we have ever done so were doing something new now... its like a totally different artist. the show leaves me unfulfilled to be honest. Concur

Concur think the book covers are a bit more in keeping. and towards the end of the 50 pics up there there's some old familiar stuff reworked.
