Laugh Now went unsold, by jam on Jun 15, 2007 21:42:43 GMT 1, Yep... I was watching this one too. The two that sold were 2k and 1700. Both were sellers with very high and near perfect/ or perfect feedback. There was also a signed LN that was running at the same time which closed at 7300. Between that and the fact there hadn't been a LN on for a fair amount of time, I think that was why the two unsigned LNs closed at what they did. Good luck in the monkey hunt though, its a great print and hopefully I will get one soon as well!

Laugh Now went unsold, by pezlow on Jun 18, 2007 10:35:37 GMT 1, This is getting crazy... When an unsigned print from an edition of 600 that cost less than a ton a year and a half ago fetches the price of a family secondhand car I just feel things have got a bit out of hand...

Laugh Now went unsold, by dotdot on Jun 18, 2007 11:00:51 GMT 1, Things have been getting out of hand for a while.
Not sure when or if things will calm down due to the confidence people have in buying un/signed from pow and selling - without redress.
The market in it's curent state is similar to the housing market. Kind of like getting on the banksy ladder. (now there's a BAD thought) People seemingly are willing to do anything to get on.
As for prints like Laugh Now , Bombhugger WSM and BME well the market at this time is pretty well WAY up - since they seldom come up are early and therefore sought after - not forgetting of coure GWB and Rude Copper.
Things may go from secondhand car to new car prices.
...not to mention situation impending on Neate and Micallef prints ;<

this maybe the time to sell if you need the money or want to get the highest price possible for your beloved (unsigned) banksy's. actually my misses wont let me sell mine.

Laugh Now went unsold, by dgb133 on Jun 18, 2007 15:41:34 GMT 1, 4 Unsigned prints have been on ebay within the past 2-3 weeks 1 Signed print was on ebay about 1-2 weeks ago
That's 5 in less than a month, not seldom. There are some artists who you have to wait months or even years before the print or artwork that you want comes up on ebay. You can pretty much bet that there will be at leats 1 to 2 dozen Banksy prints on ebay at any time.
I'm not saying we've hit top, but there's definitely a ceiling for how much these things will sell for. And spending ยฃ2,500 on an unsigned edition of 600 is no bargain and no guarantee you'll make any profit at these prices. Unless you can wait years ...if you have to.
Maybe you won't???
I'm not sure what I have more disdain for, the ebayers who put ridiculously high prices on their prints or the idiots who bid these things up that high?
