Im sensing an almighty f**kup. My first thoughts but surely not? Maybe the gallery laid them all out for D* to sign, like Fairey does his, after a long day of painting the mural and was just too tired to notice? Either way, would like to know. I probably sound like I'm unnecessarily making a big deal out of it but I'm just genuinely interested.

top one looks right, because of the tears... I agree, but also the guy should and generally appears to look taller than the woman. This way up looks right to me. That means he's signed and numbered it vertically, up the right-hand side of the margin. Here's the original at the show. So, he either meant to sign it that way or he wasn't paying an awful lot of attention when signing these. Whoops!

It is odd they had him sign it that way given the orientation of the original -- which looks to be the right way.

He seems to be loving the square prints at the mo..or has bought a press which just does square. The last square print was the punk queen.. and thats signed at the bottom as its the right place. This looks like the woman is a 7ft tall and smothering the guy.. he should be cradling her. Print Signing Fail

yeah bit of a mistake on the sig there I reckon! Fair do's he must be knackered, that wall is huge!! Great pics of what looks like a killer show, not feeling the MJs and a lot of the standard D* fayre but the books/butterflies/decks (and haring canvases) are really strong, a step forward for me. Books seem really well priced too.

Don't know if this helps, but I've noticed that the man in the original picture from the show, posted by Ruggs, has a white face. In the following photo, also from the show, the man has a grey face, same as Sohohoho's print and is hung the other way up. www.flickr.com/photos/karinfreda/5606106230/

but the gallery wouldnt hang it the other way if the sig is where it is. im guessing he signed them wrong, then they had to deal with it. but it changes the image immensely imo.

Other than the knife installation that I think looks and feels amazing, the rest of the show is just rip of run of the mill money making dross.

Posted by a member on the KR boards:
Hey guys, I'm really stressed out right now because I left my backpack (which had my laptop and other expensive ish) and camera at the D*Face show last night. This happened because I started feeling really ill (symptoms that come and go from my illness), and I called my brother in law to pick me up. I thought he grabbed my stuff which is why I didn't think twice about it. It wasn't till much later at night, and after I started to feel better, that I checked around for my stuff and noticed it wasn't here I tried calling Corey Hellford today but they're closed so no one is picking up the phone. According to the recording on their answering machine, they won't be open till Tuesday, so I'm going to be stressing it till then. Hopefully someone turned my stuff in to the office since, but like I said, I won't know till Tuesday.
If any of you guys went to the show, or know of someone who did, and possibly remembers me (first guy in line), please hit me up if you have any info. Like if you happened to see it somewhere, noticed if any of the staff grabbed them, or worse case scenario, someone other than myself had it and took off. Either way, any help would be great. I'm really trying to stay positive and hoping that it's all being held for me at the gallery. Btw, do any of you guys know if the gallery has security cameras? I'm assuming they would. If someone did take off with it, maybe the authorities can track them down that way. Alright, hope to hear from anyone who can help. Thanks.

thanks for the prices Howies! no, this is how things work in states.. you dont pay the tax with online sales cause stuff is usually going out of the state that its being sold in, but if you buy things at art shows, conventions, you pay tax on top of it.. learned it the hard way when I had a friend picking up things for me.. Thanks for that. So if I came over to a show, picked up some art then jumped on a plane home... am I likely to get charged tax twice ? You should be able to claim the US tax back at the airport on the way out. Then get clobbered for import on the way back through UK customs.

Its all in the name. If people do not understand that, then they are pretty stooooopid. It's all in the execution. When it comes to defacing as an artistic statement, Poster Boy is way ahead of DFace. Don't try and cover your arse. fail.

You should be able to claim the US tax back at the airport on the way out. Then get clobbered for import on the way back through UK customs. You can't claim the US tax back because it's not a VAT. The only you would be able to prevent it would be to ship it out of state... No tax refunds at the airport because it's not a federal tax! However, some stores make tax free cards for foreigners.
