Street Art Pictures! - A Taste of Williamsburg, by thesewalls on May 8, 2008 2:51:56 GMT 1, Greetings All,
I live in an area of Brooklyn with no shortage of street art. I've posted a bit of FAILE on here (their studio is around the corner), but haven't shared all the other beauties out there. So I took a nice walk and gathered the following for your viewing pleasures. There's some INVADER, DAIN, ARMSROCK, SWOON, WK, TLP, KINSEY, OBEY, KAWS, FAILE, BAST, to name a few...TOAST is in the house, haha! Like I said, this is a 'taste' of Williamsburg...a sampling of sorts. For anyone who knows the area - or potential visitors! - the pieces are located on and around Bedford Ave, between South 5th & North 12th streets. Enjoy while it's still alive; in 5 years this place will look COMPLETELY different, with condos being built left and right..but for now it still has soul...
Note: I chose not to cover 'graffiti' - tags, throws, pieces...of course what was represented - pastes, stencils, stickers, etc - are really just evolved representations of such me thinks. I grew up with graf and love it to death, just what happened this moment. Happy trails peoples.

Street Art Pictures! - A Taste of Williamsburg, by seidbereit on May 8, 2008 5:41:37 GMT 1, OUTSTANDING photos!!! Thanks a million for that thesewalls!
Does anyone know anything more about Graffiti Research Lab (other than what's on their site)?
I've seen quite a few of their stencils around Berlin in the past month - as though they'd just been here recently on a bombing trip and went mad on walls.

Street Art Pictures! - A Taste of Williamsburg, by icky on May 8, 2008 8:48:51 GMT 1, PLus it has one of my favourite restaurants (sweet**ter- North 6th between berry/wythe).
You can't say Sweet-water here because it contains a bad word! (That's what I guess you want to say)

LOL! Too true! ;D
Cheers for making the effort posting all these pic's thesewalls. There's some really interesting pieces there- I love the Invader above the door.
Who did the stencil/sticker of the guy with the camera? Not overly keen on it but I remember seeing it a few times at Cans this weekend.

I 've been wondering the same thing myself coffeelightandsweet. They just started popping up, but I'm thinking we may know the artist by a different image, considering his/hers presence at the Cans Festie. Or not. If anyone finds out please let us know.
I'm glad you all have enjoyed the photos and commented accordingly...nice to know my afternoon wasn't COMPLETELY wasted Hopefully Curley will cross paths with this thread - go team.
Peace!
