Customs Question...., by dodge on Jul 21, 2008 7:46:59 GMT 1, I recently purchased a Faile print from a kind board member in NY. It has been at customs for a week and a half. Is this common? How long does it usually take to clear? I have had prints held up for a couple of days before but never this long
The package is fully insured and the value has been declared so I suspect I may get charged?
Any advice appreciated, I can't wait to get this print ;D

Customs Question...., by craigf on Jul 21, 2008 8:03:12 GMT 1, It does seem quite a long time, but the time it takes to clear varies on which customs office has it, how busy they are, whether staff are off sick / holiday and whether all the paperwork looks complete etc. I would expect you will get charged unless of course they can't be bothered to raise the paperwork. If you know where it is I would recommend a quick phone call. If you get a sympathetic person on the other end of the phone there is a chance they'll "forget" about the VAT ;D

Customs Question...., by origo on Jul 21, 2008 8:10:13 GMT 1, I have received tons of prints from the states here in Denmark, my experience here is that it can take a couple of days, but it can also take a couple of weeks. Depends on the time, how busy the customs are etc. etc.

Customs Question...., by dodge on Jul 21, 2008 8:12:07 GMT 1, Thanks for that
Unfortunately the sender cannot track it any further and I don't know where it is, other than 'at customs'
I have been really lucky so far and out of the last 5 from the US I have not been charged. They were a lot cheaper than this one though
