Authentication Question...., by dodge on Aug 20, 2009 19:28:17 GMT 1, Evening all. Does anyone know how long it usually takes POW to authenticate a print? Emails are a bit vague and states they have a mountain of requests!

Authentication Question...., by dotdot on Aug 23, 2009 20:01:44 GMT 1, it all depends on what info you have to support your request.
Save me leading the wrong folks into thinking they're sorted - just follow what they ask - then you'll have nothing to worry about. Suffice to say it's not straight forward when info they require isn't available - otherwise it's cool.

Authentication Question...., by dodge on Aug 23, 2009 20:27:02 GMT 1, Cheers dotdot. The problem is I don't have a lot of information which could slow things a bit. I was given the print by a friend of mine a few years ago when Banksy's weren't worth a bomb. They were given it by a client and lost the provenance. I have managed to get the names involved so this might hopefully help to an extent. I just hope the guy who had it originally has re-registered it in his name as I suspect he may also have bought it from another party as he used to collect signed and unsigned banksy's back in the day. What a mess!
At the end of the day, if I can't get it authenticated it will stay on my wall. The only problem is, I am trying to raise funds for a LIITA which I have the chance of buying!

Authentication Question...., by G-Man on Aug 23, 2009 20:39:55 GMT 1, If you send them lots of photos they have no problems at all I have had prints authenitacted in a week by them
Once they auth them they register you as the owner and then you can decide whether to get a COA or not
I thought that the postage for the COA at over a tenner was a bit of a piss take so if you are in London better to pick it up if you can I reckon

Authentication Question...., by dotdot on Aug 23, 2009 21:19:41 GMT 1, can't speak for you G-man - i think you probably had all the right details.
dodge - worst case you'll have to take it in or send it in for a visual by pc.
for one or two i had no problem. for a few I've had to take them in - even though i had the orig owner detail !!
good luck - it'll be worth it in the end - get your litta seller to hold fire.

Authentication Question...., by dodge on Aug 24, 2009 7:11:25 GMT 1, Cheers for the advice folks. I already got my framer to take it to bits and get photos. They went off last week. I have got a feeling I may need to send it in the post. Hopefully my friend will wait with the LIITA!
