those recent Invader prints do look lovely. not too sure re the reason i like the Lister so much. it just does it for me. my kids love it too, so it can go up in their room(if i get around to buying it).

Until Winter replies - the artist is Harland Miller. If you flickr search him, there is a nice "Welcome to Gateshead" one out there too.
Billy Childish has just done a few similar ones...
Apologies for posting rude words

Best print of 2009, by Deleted on Dec 28, 2009 11:56:30 GMT 1, have to go with the parla prints (can't choose, havent see them in the flesh yet, but all these pictures promise something very nice!).. and another very unoriginal one: David Choe - Jimi. A personal hero (Jimi), so much going on and a great quality of the print.. somewhere between OG and prints..
best buy of prints for me was Cept - saintly wonder AP. I know it's not everyone's taste, but next to fly wonder it's a beautiful pair of prints.:

I really like Lister's SpongeBob Fury too. Bought it - still in the tube though. I am sure it looks stunning in the flesh.

That's fantastic Pezlow. I saw his show at the Baltic in Gateshead but didn't realise there was a print of this piece!
BUY!

Best print of 2009, by enricopalazzo on Dec 30, 2009 17:39:22 GMT 1, Coming from a point of relative ignorance I want to nominate Donuts - chocolate if I must pick one.
I was interested in the thread about the meaning of the print and, perhaps conveniently (since it's one of the few I own), I signed up to the interpretation that was floated about pink/brown representing different packaging for the same vacuous political system.
If that's the case - then this is a pretty sharp political work by anyone's standards and a cocky answer to 2008's popular choice - Obey's Obama prints. Especially given the timing of its showing & release being while the sense of hope was still strong - at least with optimistic people like me. Not even the idiot right wing managed to come up with anything critical or hateful that I'm aware of in the first half of the year - those Joker posters in LA were a cheap shot & came along later.
I hope history proves Donuts to be premature and irrelevant but it isn't looking terribly promising at this stage.
On the other hand, if this is a political work, wouldn't it have made sense for the prints to have been offered for sale together?

As long as you're taking on that interpretation you can say the act of choosing between pink and brown is part of it, you only get one vote after all
