Look what i got this morning, by Cornish Crayon on Jul 19, 2010 10:34:00 GMT 1, I have waited for some time to purchase myself one of the original banksy books, i manage to get existencilism from a dude on here
This is what was posted through my door this morning ..........
An empty jiffy bag, been cut along the top, went out and chased the postman, as he did'nt knock my door for a signature, so i have not signed for it,
I have contacted royal mail and they have given me a complaint reference no:

Look what i got this morning, by jackstranger on Jul 19, 2010 10:55:55 GMT 1, Really not cool. It happened to me once with Boards of Canada stickers from Ebay UK. The envelope was opened and the stickers gone. It was before it arrived to Portugal, because in here they noticed it, sealed the envelope and stickered a note for me to contact the post office. 6 pounds value but they were probably looking for money...
Good luck with your claim:D Was it send insured?

Look what i got this morning, by buffin on Jul 19, 2010 10:59:02 GMT 1, Quite plainly says signature required so why didn't your postie ask for one? Is it worth contacting the police?
We had a problem with post around here a few years back and when they caught the culprit we ended up with several items covering a couple of years that had never been delivered. This included children's birthday cards that had been opened and searched for money.

Look what i got this morning, by Cornish Crayon on Jul 19, 2010 11:02:23 GMT 1,
Ive mailed the dude on here, but the fact it was supposed to be signed for and i didn't sign, i would say it's covered for a certain amount, but i'm not counting my chickens,
I'm well aware it was probably a random idiot who got lucky
Quite plainly says signature required so why didn't your postie ask for one? Is it worth contacting the police?
He said to me that it probably didn't go though the system properly at some point and thats why it has been picked up, as being recorded (he gave me the details to complain) He said he didn't notice it when posting (there was another piece of mail) but i heard him posting it and thinking about it he did it quite slowly, so now i'm thinking he did.........oh i don't know, i'm guessing now eh

It doesn't look like it's the seller's fault though so why claim the money back from them?
Surely the claim is with the post office?

I'm not going into which is right or wrong here, more down to how paypal will look at it..... Because of paypals terms it might not be the sellers fault but it does make it their responsibilty. The buyer has paid for goods he has not received hence is fully entitled to a refund and the main reason paypal will refund is that the seller does not have proof of delivery due to it not being signed for. Then you get onto the fraud/theft side of things like could just an envelope with no contents have been sent, believe me it has happened plenty of times out there, i'm not commenting on this particular seller as i don't know who it is and this guy could be very trustworthy. The most likley scenario is that one of the thieving temporary post office workers have got their hands on it.
The only civilised way of solving this i think by the seller just refunding the buyer and then the seller claiming from his end as this was sent from Germany the claim is with Deutschpost not Royal Mail and would just be easier all round.
Gutted for you mate, if this is the one i am thinking of it was a very good price and there isn't any others out there for anywhere near this price.

Look what i got this morning, by Cedric Mnich on Jul 19, 2010 13:09:16 GMT 1, Wow :-( If I were you I'd go straight to my local post office and ask for the fucker who was on postal delivery duty this morning. With a bit of luck, he's a summer intern or employee and you'll catch him fast and get his loot back. I doubt just filling a complaint will ever end in something worth what you were waiting for in that envelop. What kind of postman opens and steal from mail he delivers ? Pffff

Look what i got this morning, by bigtlt on Jul 19, 2010 13:48:19 GMT 1, I have had the same problem twice before. Once my season ticket to old Trafford, whole box went missing apparently and got some stickers from pahnl recently and the envelope had been cut at the side just big enough to get them out. I know my postman though so know it wasn't him. If there's ever nobody home to pass things to, he drops it off later on, in his own time.. My problem has been at the office, and certainly at Manchester main offices, they are not known for being the most honest/careful of workers

Look what i got this morning, by angel41 on Jul 19, 2010 21:59:14 GMT 1, If I was a postman and a thief I wouldn't've bothered delivering an empty envelope I'd just helped myself to the contents of. Think the contents of the package were more than likely robbed in the sorting office and you have a very dosey postman.

Look what i got this morning, by Cornish Crayon on Jul 20, 2010 8:56:45 GMT 1, Update:
Got a phone call from local sorting office boss about 20mins ago, He said the posty has been with them a some years and is an honest chap and they have spoke to him about not doing his job properly, but there is not much else they can do.
So i say how will i be compensated for this error and he said (obviously) the sender will have to put the claim in.
Great

Look what i got this morning, by kunstrasen on Jul 20, 2010 10:53:38 GMT 1, Definitely contact the seller as well...this shipping method at least used to be insured to a value which should cover the book. Just checked their site though and seems like the the changed their system. So not sure. But the seller can file a complaint and it usually goes rather quick to get your money back.
