Hi Forumers and Artists,

Some of you may know of me from the forum or you may have met me in person, at one of the many gallery shows.

I am interested in holding an Urban Art Auction to raise some money for a charity called Haven House Children's Hospice who care for children aged between 0 - 19 year old. These children have life threatening conditions and are unlikely to reach adulthood.

Haven House provides services such as day, short break and end of life care. They help support families without them to worry about cost. The hospice is based in Woodford Green and helps look after children and their families in Central and North East London and West Essex.

Haven House Children's Hospice relies on donations for the majority of its money but in the current economic climate it is even more of a struggle to find funds. Each year they have to raise nearly £2 million to be able to continue to provide this fantastic service for children and families. I would like to raise £10,000 so if your interested in donating a piece of your work whether large or small, all donations would be greatly appreciated. Please pm me.

Once pieces have been gathered so shall a venue and I will take it from there.

Have you contacted any Artists directly?? If I'm not mistaken you and your family are collectors and have met many artists? Might put you in a good position to get direct donations, also maybe PM GETDRINGMOBILE they might be able to help with ideas and the paperwork etc

Good on you a very worthy cause, why the interest with this charity if it's not a personal question?

I have contacted many artists directly i just thought it would be good to post it on the forum aswell. I will keep getdringmobile in mind . With the charity despite it being quite local to me I am doing charity work for it anyway and i heard on the BBC news that they are stuggling to find the funds to provide their services for children and their families and decided that an urban art auction would be a great way to raise money.

Not sure actually, it all depends on the amount of pieces i recieve.

That's great. You should look into getting an auction house to host it for you though. The GDM one was a real success, and I'm sure yours will be too. Got some great artists there!

All is going well, but still slow, i know there are a lot of charity events happening but still, like Haiti, Haven House Childrens Hospice is a worthy cause so it would be great if all you artists out there would donate something.
