Framing The Xenz, by Existencil on Feb 27, 2009 15:33:30 GMT 1, I've just had a quote of £204 to frame the recent POW release by Xenz. The measurement is 74 x 107cm. It's a pretty standard black frame with a mount. Does this sound right or should I look elsewhere?
Cheers.

Framing The Xenz, by Sliding on the Walls on Feb 27, 2009 15:41:11 GMT 1, That's loads. It shouldn't cost that much extra for a larger piece of glass really

Framing The Xenz, by pezlow on Feb 27, 2009 15:53:37 GMT 1, Doesn't seem that bad assuming a proper conservation frame and UV glass.

Framing The Xenz, by curiousgeorge on Feb 27, 2009 15:53:47 GMT 1, To be honest it would depend on which materials are being used, it's a bit like the how long is piece of string question*
* I know,i know twice the length and half of it

Framing The Xenz, by clerk on Feb 27, 2009 19:56:06 GMT 1, Seems a lot to me. Usually costs me about £90-100 to frame similar sized prints - but the glass is not museum quality.

Framing The Xenz, by craigf on Feb 27, 2009 23:31:37 GMT 1, Again depends on materials, but my pieces tend to average £200 a time to frame

Framing The Xenz, by gtf on Feb 28, 2009 0:33:08 GMT 1, For that size to full conservation standards I was quoted roughly £120 normal glass £210 UV glass £350 "Museum" glass
As others have posted it does depend on the quality/type of the frame as well, number of mounts, etc.

Framing The Xenz, by Martin Whatson on Feb 28, 2009 0:47:46 GMT 1, Thank god you r not in Norway!!!
My City Girl cost me 225 pounds (about 80x80 cm single mount with uv glass!!)
My Herakut - Permission cost me 220 pounds (about 65x90 cm double mount with standard glass)
And Ive checked the price to floatmount a 55x76 cm print in a standard white frame! And it will be around 260 pounds!

Framing The Xenz, by neale on Feb 28, 2009 20:56:52 GMT 1, Sounds about right to me for conservation framing, I always pay my framer in cash, that brings it down by 25% as we're not troubling the taxman with extra work!!!
