Grafter Splash Canvas Question, by daveart on Jan 25, 2010 21:44:47 GMT 1, I have a white Splash canvas purchased from Urban Angel over a year ago.
Note the lower left corner of the canvas - with strong side lighting you can see a shadow on the canvas from a bit of looseness in it at the corner. i think this shows up enough in the pictures.
this is how it came out of the packaging originally - and is i would add consistent with a similar situation on an Eskimo Child canvas i purchased direct from Grafter.
my question - if i were to sell this canvas - how is this represented? is it a problem or just the way the canvas was stretched.
secondarily, Any thoughts open to what people might feel a current value would be. It is #1/10
Thank you.
and full view..

Grafter Splash Canvas Question, by Deleted on Jan 25, 2010 21:49:21 GMT 1, have seen this many times on deep box canvasses, maybe it has something to do with that? Canvasses can always be stretched again, but don't think about doing it yourself.. Doesnt costs that much (for a similar sized canvas I paid about 80 euro's I think)..
This would annoy me, but I know for sure some people won't care about it..

Grafter Splash Canvas Question, by andimate on Jan 27, 2010 5:42:18 GMT 1, I have a Grafter Splash on paper. Paid $599.
Bottom left hand corner is stamped and signed by Grafter and numbered #/50.
Also, the packaging came with another signed Grafter on the inside of the cardboard.
Hope this helps with pricing.

mist the back of the canvas with that then let it dry naturally away from the wall, this should tighten it up

Agree with above, I had a very sharp crease in a canvas, after trying various methods I was advised to lightly dampen the back of the canvas with a moist cloth on the crease and now you would never know it was there, definitely give it a go, you cant do any damage.

Grafter Splash Canvas Question, by walshy on Jan 27, 2010 17:48:03 GMT 1, Most bottom end art will do this as most people buy pre made canvases, which obviously do not compare to a real hand made canvas
