Google/youtube will be renting out at least 5 films from Sundance as a part of their new "filmmakers wanted" campaign to help out independent filmmakers...
Everyone should be buzzing over this, but 4 pages show who is really interested. I could say a few things about this but my loyalty to certain people and my better judgement make me think otherwise. But 4 pages for an EVENT versus 40 odd for a f**kin print release says it all.

>>>But 4 pages for an EVENT versus 40 odd for a f**kin print release says it all<<<
This thread is 2 days old and the print threads are weeks old. Plus with the way this board has been chopped up like sushi more times then I can count, it's easier to keep track (and more informative) elsewhere.

But when there's a print release people give there opinions on the print itself and on meaning of the print.
At the minute its only speculation about a film that may or may not be happening. Until the film starts playing there's not a lot people can comment about it, I'm pretty sure that when the people that see it report back what it was like or about, comments will flood in.
Just got home from the Arsenal game and am buzzing butthis is even more exciting! Well done to those of you going - the rest of us will wait for a local release.

Yes, a print release gets hundreds of pages and this has only 4 but i think that's for a few reasons.
A standard print release thread goes... speculation about when it's out - 1 page do i/don't i have to reregister - 5 pages so, any one got an email yet? - 1 page i got one - 2 pages i didn't - 10 pages anyone want to buy mine - 1 page stone the flipper - 10 pages anyone want to swap mine for an old print - 1 page discussion of value of swaps - 10 pages and so on
which i agree gets frustrating and depressing however i think the main reason that lots of people haven't started commenting on this is at the moment noone really knows anything. up until the 2nd stencil i wasn't convinced, and the small monkey just looks completely out of character with everthing he's done lately.
i am very excited about the film but knowing nothing more than the next man i didn't really think it was worth a post just saying "i'm excited" is pointless. and i'd rather have 1 page of decent info than 10 pages of people speculating about the film.

Fair enough maybe I jumped the gun just hope if it is true then people get excited by it. It reminds me of old days seeing little bits of stuff. I hope it covers the many years of activity.
i don't look at the forum for a few days and i get silkys email - this sounds awesome.
i agree with others - far more exciting than any of the print releases over the last 2 or so years - i am gutted that there is absolutely no way i will be able to go! - any news on further showings of this; or is it going to be a one off (four screenings) sundance event??.....
"Graffiti appears in Park City, but is it the work of the famous Banksy?"
"At least three pieces of graffiti art have appeared in Park City in recent days, but it was not immediately clear whether a famous artist rumored to be featured in a Sundance Film Festival documentary is responsible for the pieces. Jon Weidenhamer, a City Hall staffer who is looking into the graffiti, said the pieces were discovered on the Cows building on Main Street, a power box at the Gateway Center in Old Town and on a barn off S.R. 224. "Obviously we're not condoning tagging public or private property in town," Weidenhamer said. City Hall received the reports on Tuesday, he said. Officials typically attempt to remove graffiti on public property within 72 hours of it being discovered. Some people suspect the graffiti is the work of a well-known artist named Banksy. There is online chatter that a film featuring Banksy might screen during Sundance."

The Park Record is a worthless excuse of a small town newspaper. The name of the journalist on this piece is Jay Hamburger. 'Nuff said,
