Tape....., by mainlad2005 on Apr 17, 2007 15:52:15 GMT 1, Hi,
I am trying my hand at a little DIY framing but having real trouble finding some appropriate tape.......? I know I need acid free etc but does anyone know a high street stockist or an internet retailer that won't charge the same price for delivery as the bloomin tape itself costs.
OR
is there an alternative to tape......?
Thanks very much

Tape....., by thwaites on Apr 17, 2007 17:41:31 GMT 1, where are you based? as there is a great framing supply shop in Birmingham where you can get tape. They do have a website but not sure about delivery prices. Plus i think you have to buy a few rolls together and cant just get one. Or you could just ask your local framer to supply you with a roll, i get mine from my local framers.

Tape....., by Run Pig Run on Apr 17, 2007 17:45:54 GMT 1, you can get these things that look like giant photo corners to hold the print in place i.e. no sticky stuff on the print, they are also acid-free. ask your local framer?

Tape....., by jon0 on Aug 15, 2007 17:03:00 GMT 1, I'm having the same problem.
Lineco make great products for all of this but I can't seem to find a UK internet retailer who supplies any of it. guess a trip to the local framer is the only way to go.

Tape....., by rydal on Aug 15, 2007 22:47:02 GMT 1, I buy gummed, acid free, paper tape from Hobbycraft. It works well and is fully removable. No more than a couple of quid a roll.

Tape....., by f5ers on Nov 30, 2007 10:48:17 GMT 1, Wessex pictures.. I use them for heaps of framing supplies and have a good range of tapes etc. www.wessexpictures.com/tapes.html
The Filmoplast 'P90' Tape is ok for cheaper prints if you are hinge mounting and comes off with water (slow process) or the 1" Archival Gummed Tape for more conservation standards. Can't remember if they do the mylar corners but probably do
